VODEL ANNOUNCE NEW SCARAB CARGO CAPABILITY
09-DEC-3307

Red-faced executives from vehicle manufacturer Vodel today announced significant improvements for new and existing customers of their flagship Scarab Model. As a result of engineering oversight the cargo capacity has been raised from 2 tonnes to 4 tonnes with immediate effect. Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott briefed a press conference today advising that the Scarab had always been designed, engineered and tested to carry 4 tonnes however late in the development phase a junior engineer had inadvertently disabled the controller software for the secondary dual-cargo hitch that is found hidden away behind and above the primary dual-cargo hitch. According to Scott this was the final verification prototype release, and the mistake "slipped through the net" making it out in to the field. Miraculously this fault had gone unnoticed by users for some years, it would seem largely as a result of frustrations with radar scanner sounds, and wild 360 degree spins taking precedence in the owners complaints.

The error came to light when an unnamed Lavian engineering enthusiast was modifying his Scarab to compete in the recent Galactic Stunt Spectacular, and enquired with Vodel as to why his Scarab had a secondary cargo hitch. The error state has now been rectified with a galactic software patch - mysteriously numbered "9". It is unclear why the patch denomination is 9, but speculation is rife that this is a further clue as to the whereabouts of Raxxla.

Wait ... you mean the Scarab's cargo capacity WILL automatically increase to 4t without a refit?

Oof! Mah immerrrrrshuns!
You will just receive DIY instructions to remove that annoying beam in the middle of the trunk that wasn't supposed to be there in the first place 🤷‍♂️

"An issue has been fixed whereby raw materials and even some refinable fragments became “stuck” inside the mineable rock instead of being released, even though they show up in contacts they cannot be collected."

Now THAT was most definitely annoying. Lost far more limpets than I should because of these stuck materials and rock not being ejected far enough from the center. Thanks for fixing this annoyance.

There is an option for the immerrshun sensatie to sell off there old Scarab and get a shiny new replacement at locations with suitable Outfitting, if you do use this approach remember to strip off all engineering and cosmetics before the sale to ensure that you don't lose them.
