Greetings CMDRs,
Just wanted to reach out to new players coming into the game and let them know that we are here to help in anyway possible. I've been playing ED for several years now and know that it can be quite overwhelming at first. And with all that has been in the news regarding Odyssey, some may have opted to move on. But don't!! This is a great game. Feel free to hit me up on xbox if you have questions about how to wrap your head around everything that is ED. I'm also a squad member in the East India Co. which helps players get a hold of some of those hard-to-get materials for engineers. If you just want to wing up with another player and run missions or need an armed escort for a trading run, or whatever, let me know. I'm always willing help out a fellow console cmdr when possible. It can get quite lonely out there without community. And community is the reason I keep coming back to this game.

I'm on the newer side (around 150 hrs in) and was wondering if I'm a bit late to the party, considering all the negativity surrounding ED:O. But for the last few days I was dipping my toes into the community, reading all the unread newsletters, checking out the streams, fan Youtube channels, all the content creating fan initiatives, podcasts, art etc. and I get the impression that with so much awesome people this game will live for a long time no matter what.

I personally play with Federal Liberal Command group (we have a Discord). But if you're totally fresh spend some time on learning the basics first, Galactic Academy on Discord is good and Youtube ofcourse, especially Down to Earth Astronomy and Cmdr Exigeous. Do various kinds of missions so you can find out what you enjoy. The more you'll play and learn about all Elite has to offer, the more ideas about what to do next and who to play with will come to your mind. First 20 hrs are the hardest, if you'll get through it, after that you should already be in love with this game. And remember, Google has most of the answers, and those which it won't have, you'll find on Discord or this forum.
