Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Yes it's two completely different things. I still not understand what you want to explain.. Are you trying to say that CIG has no legal right to do so?
idk, I am not an expert. Probably not. But it is not the legality of it that I find fasctinating. Then again, I think it has been discussed ad nauseam here.
No need of luck for my company, I run it since 2 decades.

I'd argue it's a different type of cargo though... and I can see what Ant is kind of saying in that its akin (loosely) to complaining that a bulk freighter can't carry crude oil.
cargo type doesn’t matter when the “freigther” is designed around fixed size containers. A semi can attach a flatbed or luiquid-tank, etc.

I could be wrong but I think the new mustang cargo was designed using same concept used by Aurora’s Stor-All container.

we can argue whether that’s a bug or limitation, but the fact that bigger and more expensive ships have abe working cargo grid but the “starter” ships still have that functionally missing… is astonishing.

Indeed, then you can return to writing posts about how all PvPers are griefers who don't actually try to act like pirates/thieves with an endgoal beyond 'the lolz'.

Your forum gameplay loop has returned!

That was a pretty silly post, especially since i've never tried to say all PvPers are griefers and that i'm usually very careful to separate out the general PvP population from gankers/griefers.

It might even surprise you to hear that i spent several weeks helping out a PvP group with their BGS (the guys in San Tu) and have a number of friends in games who are PvPers. I was also a member of Cobra Kai for a year or so, a PvP focused group and a good bunch of guys.

So, please, stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Yeah, because before CIG, CR was poor, lived in a 200K house and drove a Lada :sneaky:
Do you know you can rent a yatch or be invited on a yatch ? I personnaly own a picture of me on a yatch and I was smiling too, I let you guess if it was mine or not :)

Just to provide some info based on what I understand to be the situation.

CR's financial situation after the Kevin Costner lawsuit wasn't the best, but he wasn't starving. However, he didn't have his mansion until after he got money from the funding of SC. Where he was living prior to this i don't know, but it wasn't a mansion. Some people like to claim CR was rich from his previous endeavours and that's how he could afford the mansion. I have to say, i'm skeptical about that considering the timing.

The yacht thing is something skeptics have been misled over. There is no proof CR actually owns a yacht. If we are to trust Sandi (ok, its a stretch) the yacht trip was a present from her for CR for his birthday. If true, then there is no reason for anyone to complain about it. A birthday present is a birthday present... can't complain about that. Well... unless of course someone said this...

CR himself said in the Forbes article "I was quite successful before I founded Cloud Imperium" and that's how he can afford a $4.7M mansion in the LA hills under a family trust, Porsches, Monaco vacations etc etc.

He was successful during the Wing Commander days. He probably lost a bit over Freelancer and frittering away money on that godawful Wing Commander film.

His time as a film publisher was a mixed bag (although i did enjoy Lord of War) but ended badly after the Costner lawsuit and after that CR wasn't involved in films anymore.

After that its a bit vague. All we really know is he ran a business renting out second hand limos from an airport before starting the fundraising for SC.

He didn't buy the mansion until after the money started rolling in from Star Citizen.

Aww, happy puppy Bog decides to uninstall game...

(But it's ok, he downgrades that to just not playing again until 3.17. And then to just to farming merits at night. And then he does a raffle.)

Chat claims he died to some legacy shield hole or something. Who knows though. (EDIT: Looks more like desync maybe?)

Hmm.. i don't know his history so well, but reminds me of BNB's slow meltdown over the years, his proposal to his girfriend at the cin, his quitting SC, his return, his quitting again,.and... well, no idea what he's doing now.

Probably the biggest ED streamer that moved mainly over to SC.

He did go back to ED for Odyssey and streamed that for a little while.

Here's a thought. While SC's funding seems to remain strong for the moment, does the rise of more and more people selling dreams for money pose a threat to SC?

Some of the biggest whales are probably also the biggest dreamers, and we see projects now offering way more than what SC is offering.

Star Atlas
Earth 2
and....

wait for it....

Cryptoland... a "real" island that is being parceled up into NFTs. (no island actually purchased yet).

Can CIG survive this wave of people making even bigger cow manure claims than them?

Of course they can. The majority of SC's playerbase aren't cryptobros that buy into P2E games, Star Atlas' CEO has absolutely 0 history in game design and studied something to do with finances. Earth 2, pretty much straight up a scam with little to no progress updates at all. Don't know much about Cryptoland but these are all completely different "games" to what SC wants to achieve. While SC has an Alpha you can play now, these have pretty much nothing (well apart from Cryptoland maybe).

So yes, of course CIG can and will survive this because these are completely different target audiences. Most of the refunders and SC community actively shuns these crypto scams, something both can agree on.
