Is somewhat telling that no one can answer this.
It’s more telling that you guys can’t see scope creep even when it’s right in front of you

I don't need the alpha term. It's already a working game but still in alpha. But you'll still pull out the alpha excuse the moment you need to right?
Because you act in bad faith by not reading the answers, or the previous existing mega-threads here were we abundantly discussed all of these features that popped in with no reason and were not asked for. Like the AI bartender, hunger and thirst mechanics, public transportation with wait times, that ToW game, ships with new game mechanics while other ships havent got their implemented, most things announced at every CitizenCon, etc. etc. etc. the list is really long, and would be tedious to compile, would that effort be worth our time, i doubt so since you dont care about the answer anyway.
Its been answered, he just didn't like the answer.
I'll throw out one of the biggest examples, the single biggest example that caused a major shift in the development of the game and added a metric poo poo ton of work to the project.
And, best of all, its one the backers can't say they voted for, because it happened after the votes about stretch goals and funding.
That is, full planetary landings. You may recall, prior to around 2015, the plan was limited POI/base landing points. By moving away from that CIG literally added decades of work to the scope.

Being in alpha doesn't prevent me to play it. It's the same for Valheim.
Not denying at all that SC had some incredible scope creep from when it was first announced.
What major feature was announced in 2021 that wasnt a thing before?
SC did enough scope creep in the first few years that they don't need to do anymore.

*hunger and thirst mechanics - that is a new one (2020)
Afaik that was the plan since they wanted to have these social space landing zones back in 2014.*public transportation with wait times - that been a thing since Hurston was put in
Yes that is the only really new concept*that ToW game - that too, that is new (2019)

Also something talked about way back in 2016.

False, talked about as early as 2018 and was in the medical design notes

lol, I think Sova is just softly trolling. I mean, unless he really wants someone to copy paste each and every scope addition post Kickstarter. Although we could start with the easiest and more obvious ones, all the stretch goals post the original 2 million Kickstarter mark: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/funding-goalsIs somewhat telling that no one can answer this.
'Star Citizen: Actually, I forgot what the point was'Actually, i forgot what the point was.
It replicates the depth of field we see with our eyes, ie each screen shows a different rendering of the scene from a different position, not the same position. It creates the real 3d depth. How are the two renders different in VR?

Valheim also has a working vulkan renderer, which LA has been touting as an upcoming, game-changing jesus tech for SC for years now.Interesting how you bring up Valheim, a game that in alpha worked very well and not at all like a certain other alpha, with all core gameplay loops in place and, well, you know, it just worked.
But ok, you don't use the alpha excuse... i can wait for you to use it again, which you will do, eventually.
You asked about scope creep. Those stretch goals are very significant scope creep and imposed serious delays to CIG making it miss its original 2014 estimate deadline and later on the 2015 one. But scope additions didn´t stop after those stretch goals either. For example towards the end of 2015, and thanks to the magic Germans (tm), CIG decided to add to the pre-release scope of work the procedural generation/techniques for planets, which hitherto had been only considered as post release stuff. That pre release scope creep addition was one of the most impactful ones for the over complexification and delays of the development work that ensued, and it has precisely been used by many backers as justification for most of the delays that came after it. You can probably also take any 10 For the Chairman after end of 2014 and get new scope creep every episode etc. These stretch goals have long stopped, and with the "new" scope creep:
Is there any evidence whatsoever, that beyond the stretch goals, has any of these new features such as ToW and the mines held up development on another promised feature of SC? Because I cannot find any tangible evidence for that. And that is what scope creep is, adding features without any regard to the rest of the project.
