According to CIG: Star Citizen is in early alpha development (essential core tech still required, e.g. Dynamic Server Meshing), in early access, and playable now. With micro and macro pay2win/pay2skip transactions.
Meanwhile, Theaters of War, SATABall, and Squadron 42 are vaporware.
They're Tier 0, FUDster. Beam-trip detection tech is scheduled for 3.23. Never been done before
There is nothing in that which you couldn't have in game, the question is whether you should, for example would bloom and depth of field effects in the cinematic be appropriate for an open world live action segment, its simple effects like that which give it that cinematic quality but shouldn't be used in a live action scene. yet its all in engine, you could have it.

I believe it was Pliny the Younger who said: "ITS ALPHA!!!!"
Cue the "laser trip mines are difficult" memes.So...the laser trip mines don't kill people, but doors and ramps do (and landing, and random objects and dragonflies)?![]()
They do. But not necessarily the ones you'd think they should.So...the laser trip mines don't kill people, but doors and ramps do (and landing, and random objects and dragonflies)?![]()

It is there, between the lines ("we are focusing on Squadron 42").Any chance SQ42 is hiding in there ?![]()
Finally had some time to have a look at that MCV article. Don’t think backers or players are the target audience. Seems rather like the kind of piece you would do to try and attract new investors.
Too bad the compiler can't read between the lines. It is there, between the lines ("we are focusing on Squadron 42").
It's called bullshots. Made in engine, looks legit but not featured in the game. But highly suggestive to be featured in the game.Well, i wasn't saying "couldn't have" just that it doesn't exist, like a patting the head and rubbing the belly animation.
Or, take for example, the 2001 rip off... well, it could happen in game, just that CIG wouldn't do it.... or would they?
Or the Great Gatsby/Fifth Element rip off... yeah, they could add that to the game, as a scripted scene, but otherwise nothing like that will ever actually be in game.
