Cheating

Unlimited fuel, or unlimited jump range do not help you much in exploring. Instant survey, likewise at best it just would speed things up.

Basically with decent fuel scoop you all ready have unlimited fuel.

Seriously? Fuel scooping costs lots of time and is risky, especially when in deep space where all damage to the power plant accumulates forever. Part of the reason it's easier to find uncharted systems farther out is because most players don't survive that far, and it's rightfully rewarding when you reach an area of space where few can reach.

Until that sense of victory gets soured by the knowledge that some kid in the basement just jumped here all the way from Sol and named every body after himself with the click of a mouse.

LOL you seemly have never done long distance trips. With proper exploration ship refuelling is very very easy and fast and safe. My Krait basically tops its tank after one jump in seconds, (and I usually top it with every jump if it is possible) And you really can survive nearly undefinitely long in deep black. My longest trip was from Sol to Ishum's Reach, from there to Colonia, and back to Sol. About as far as you can go from Sol without carrier.

Simple rule for fuel scooping, align so that star is above you, check where drop out zone circle goes, and keep it above your bow. And circle the star. Keep an eye at temperature gauge, though with proper exploration ship heat problem is manageable, it just does not take much heat.

Check out my signature, that Elite rank in exploration was not got by going around the bubble :D

Eh sorry, not impressed. I thought you were one of those deep space explorers lol. Going to Colonia is just a long business trip, nobody's worried about that. I'm talking about going to Beagle Point and walking the Neutron highway, preferably without a carrier as that's more challenging.

I got my Elite Explorer rank in the bubble. Well not IN the bubble, but at Robigo Mines. Forgive me if I don't consider it a very big achievement.

Ishum's Reach is BEYOUND Beagle. I have visited Beagle Point too. In fact when I got there I found out that you can get somewhat further from Sol. It was on back to Sol trip when I decided to make detour at Colonia. ;) And neutron highway is pretty familiar to me also :)

Some people have been in deep black for the years.
I know, and that's impressive. Which is exactly why I'm p*ssed that there are cheaters out there getting the same if not more surveys without any of the challenge or risk. Deepspace exploration should not be made a trivial task.

Good for you then. Do consider that some of us have yet to reach that level and it's not fun to have cheaters cut in front of us.

Well if I wanted to cheat in this game exploration would not be where I would cheat. Combat, material gathering, Powerplay...Cheating would not give much for explorer.

Lets say for example that instant scan thing. Okay it gives you some money more. But usually you can quick FSS system scan anyways and cherry pick your findings, ELW, waterworld and so on, no need to scan icy bodies and so on, you get 90% of system value and first found tag anyways.

No. It is just that game has been running a while and if you do your exploration with max jump ranges chances are that near the bubble every system you fly through is already discovered.

Just flew back to the bubble and was still hitting unexplored systems just under 1200ly out, but I was coming from a direction most pilots don't travel, heading out now on a more common route and nearly 3kly most stuff is already discovered and mapped, it's very much a fact that most players on their first exploration go the same direction as everyone else did the first time out of the bubble, directly towards the nearest nebula basically.

Unlimited jump range, well I have to say that exploring is like road movie, trip more important than destination. Say you instant jump to Beagle Point. What you find is pretty generic system with some tourist beacons. Pretty much anticlimax.

Lol, not it doesn't and no it isn't and no damage doesn't accumulate forever. Fuel scooping with a proper scoop takes a few seconds if you do it every jump you can, the risk is basically zero for scooping unless you do it badly and that's down to the player, and damage only goes down to a certain level except for FSD and neutron jumping. If that kid in the basement was doing that his name would be at the top of the exploration charts, but it isn't!

I'm not getting what you're trying to say for the past hour. Are you defending cheaters? Or are you just saying "screw you I don't think your problem matters"?

Basically I'm saying that cheating in exploration is non-existent. And even if you do cheat what you are doing is just robbing all the joy and achievement of your gameplay.
