Who could have guessed a buggy alpha with a reputation of being a scam would have lower player numbers than fully released titles! I am flabberghasted.
Well, according to Bognogus SC is not even a buggy alpha but worst, a tech demo. Do you agree with him?

I mean, that must be some kind of record all right. 10+ years of development and 400 millions wasted for not even a buggy alpha but just a tech demo?

There are probably not many other actual alphas that have been so unsuccessful in producing so little quality products with so much time and money spent as Star Citizen. I agree with you it is no surprise so few players try to play it.

SC is in quantum state from certain backers viewpoint. Depending on critical comments it can be unreleased buggy alpha techdemo, and at same time be all ready released best space game ever clearly outshining its all competitors.

I don't. It's way past the "tech demo" stage at this point, it's an alpha yes, but clearly not a tech demo. You could call SC 2.0 with virtually no game features and no currency a Tech Demo yes, but now SC has gameloops, currency, systems like survival, it's not a tech demo anymore.

Never been done before. But that money wasn't "wasted" - depends on how you look at it. Wasted in the sense of producing a released product in the timeframe? Yes. Wasted in the sense of building an Alpha on the road to a released product? No.

According to me as well. An alpha needs to contain implementations of all the systems. Not necessarily of all the content, but systems need to be there. In this case we are talking about an online game without the online layer implemented yet. There is only a placeholder. I am not even going to mention all the gameplay loops.

Star Citizen is still a demo of itself.

"Alpha software may not contain all of the features that are planned for the final version."

Bognogus is clearly just a hater and a troll.

Again, debating the meaning of "alpha" when SC doesn't qualify under any definition. It will never be branded as anything other than "alpha" by CIG, because the moment they suggest that they've achieved everything they intend to achieve, the bubble will burst. Meanwhile, you're already playing the release version, and features may be improved or added over time just like any other live service game, as Roberts himself described. But you mustn't review or criticise it, because "alpha".

I've never said that it cant be reviewed or criticised. But the facts are that it's an Alpha. Spouting conspiracy bullcrap that they're not working towards a release because "muh bubble bursting" won't change the fact that it is an Alpha either.
