Imagine professional trolls who buy starter packs, spend enough to reach concierge level (or above), just to see the project fail.
I always thought "professional" meant you made money, but things are weird here in the U.S.

Without proof you have to give them the benefit of the doubt that star citizen isn't a scam.
But looking at the output, it might as well be. Would probably have the same thing in your hands if it was.

Also if star citizen releases bonus features that aren't on the roadmap, isn't that a factual sign that the roadmap is only marketing? Surely the roadmap would be updated if a completely leftfield and unexpected feature was being worked on.. because its the roadmap...?

nah. with all the other things people could be doing? have to be getting paid. anything else just isn't plausible. dont believe it.
I work both the refunds angle and the grey market. Demoralize the whales, stir the pot on Spectrum and Reddit, help them offload their accounts, and just add those ships to my ever-growing fleet so I can own the white knights when the game releases.*
Oh, and I disguise the transactions on my bank statements as "Boiled Crawfish," "Boudin," and "Bourbon."
It's as plausible as any other reason I've seen over the years.

Well, up to you. Like most things in life our activities can fall into work and pleasure. I'm sat at my computer most of the day with work, but everyone needs downtime, so that's when pleasure gets a look in, and smack talking about SC's development is fun. Almost 10 years of entertainment, all for free. That's a bargain!
