Depends on you view investors. They are investing in the game, just not for financial reward. But unlike regular investors they have no rights, so from that perspective, this guy is just shouting into the void.

They did get one thing absoloutely right though. CR is in charge and whatever mistakes his employees make, he is responsible for. Backers can blame "marketing" or whoever, but CR is responsible for whatever they do.

Also thanks for making me laugh with star citizen = fan fiction. :D

Star Citizen has reached a point in its development where major game systems should be coming online every 2-3 months because the development team understands the tech and has a clear direction and goal set. Instead, “major” features make it in once or twice a year, and I put “major” in quotes because they are often systems that many would consider baseline, like an inventory and equipment system.

…it’s fair to say Star Citizen and CIG are a joke within the game industry because of their utter failure to deliver actual, normal progress year over year.

In the time since SC kickstarted, I have started and finished work on 3 AAA-budget games, all with single- and multiplayer components, one of which was built with fully proprietary tools, all with teams less than half the size of CIG.

Their inability to deliver is neither normal nor is it acceptable, and the only reason the game is still being made is because people like us enable them to do so (some do it gladly, no shade there).

So much effort wasted. A more efficient way to hustle Chris and his court is by closing the wallets. Period.

Hmm, I not sure about that tbh :) but you got me thinking. Maybe in short spells? Not sure.

London 2020:
Scotland Yard figures reveal 288 incidents in 2020 where a lethal firearm was discharged, compared with 266 in 2019.

New York 2020:
1,480 shootings in New York City as of Thursday (dec 21 2020), almost double the 748 logged during the same period last year (2019).

I think a lot of the violence here in Scotland and in London is knife crime, real problem for sure.

It's the same over here, most of the firearms...namely handguns... are owned and used illegally by the criminal element. Unlike the US though, 95% of ordinary folks in this country have never even seen a handgun, far less held one. I had a fair collection of legally owned firearms of all descriptions at one time, I signed them all over to my sons when I gave up my firearms certificate many years ago...

Being brought up as a farm boy then into the military, I've used firearms all of my life...but there comes a point when you've been dealing with the effects and aftermath of warfare for 20-odd years as your job, you just don't want to have them around any more. I spent my entire adult life at war, from being shot at for the first time as a naive 18 year old soldier during 1977 in the north of Ireland, to the Falklands war in 1982 plus every major and minor bunfight from then until being forcibly retired by Terry Taliban blowing me up in 2002. I've had quite enough of guns...as well as being at the pointy end of someone elses.

I can't disagree with you there, outside of entertainment value. But someone on Spectrum wanted more direct communication from the man.
