Yes, let's egg them!
Umm.. no. I guess you are not aware of the current trend on this forum of offering people eggs in trying times?
Yes, let's egg them!
Nope. I could actually point you to many such an example of backers just pointing to comms or marketing, and ignoring what and who is actually behind those, where I even responded in a similar manner to a few. Cant be bothered to dig those out, so you ll have to trust me, but there has a been many over the years.I think you're just reading between the lines to see what you want to see![]()
That is the smoothest sounding stream ever to grace this thread!![]()
I think you're just reading between the lines to see what you want to see. As a 'fan', I get a whole different take on it I suppose![]()
Eggs are used for "testicles" in my language. Like balls.Umm.. no. I guess you are not aware of the current trend on this forum of offering people eggs in trying times?
My last minute edit made a bit more sense...as one of those longer term 'fans', I perhaps get a different take on who's actually saying what rather than just what's being said. As always with SC, there's a load of jumping on whatever bandwagon that looks like is going their way...but unusually, there's more than a few who had the comfy seats at the back of the bus jumping off.Nope. That is fine of course. All I am saying is that the "blaming comms or marketing" and ignoring what and who is really behind those is neither new nor "what I want to see". It just happens factually quite often. The video linked just happens to have it on the frikking title and so it is natural to trigger the comment on the matter. My last minute edit made a bit more sense...as one of those longer term 'fans', I perhaps get a different take on who's actually saying what rather than what's being said. I don't see why they're bothering, they could just use the standard 'plans change' that's often offered up to excuse Frontier.I've seen backers argue every point possible by this stage.

Oh they had a plan, then it changed, and it changed, and it changed ........Because you have to have one to start with and SC just seems to jump from one development crisis to another with no plan at all!
Meh, I tried using them more as food but they're not super popular with me.Same in Russian. But the current forum trend is due to this...

Again, as ever with SC...all of this latest bleating and soul searching will come to absolutely nothing because folks simply won't put their money where their mouths are...or rather, keep it in their wallets. The community response to this arrogant nonsense is but a minor glitch in Ci¬G terms, certainly a far cry from the mass exodus of 2016/17 when those of us who did voice our displeasure actually took our money out. Ci¬G know this...they'll just ride it out looking at the funding tracker rather than reading the comments of displeasure and carry on as if nothing ever happened.
The difference is by degree not in process. From my point of view, both asked for funds in 2012 for future products, neither of which have been fully delivered by 2022.Difference is that FDEV is fully entitled to plan changes since they do the work on their own risk and dime and only ask you for your money (with a few exceptions) when they think the product is ready for release. CIG is the extreme opposite of that having being funded thanks to pre-selling to us and cashing on those "plans" 10+ years in advance to the tune of 400+ million and placing all the risk squarely on the backers. And still counting. I mean, I guess we could turn this thread into a LEP one or discuss Offline if you so wish but the differences would still be abysmal.

Plans change eh?
Difference is FD has a plan that is actually doable and not some hot-gassed fantasy that gets blown up by every department that touches it.Difference is that FDEV is fully entitled to plan changes since they do the work on their own risk and dime and only ask you for your money (with a few exceptions) when they think the product is ready for release. Reddit is just a gossip medium so Ci¬G obviously have an influence there to mitigate negativity. What should be of greater concern to Ci¬G's marketing snakes is the sudden interest by general gaming media taking a nose in there and popping out commentary pieces left and right. As much as there's still nothing too damaging to Ci¬G out there; even Kotaku's piece on the issue was weak to simpering and the greater gaming media just aren't that interested in passing news off on such a niche gaming genre in the first place.Bloomin heck.... the /r/sc mods have gone full jackboots

That thread was getting massively upvoted.
Thankfully the brave mods were on hand to shut down all the negative opinions about the game!
