Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

"It takes so long to get anywhere" - haven't we said the same thing?

"there's nothing to do in the cities" - haven't we said the same thing?

"there's so much waiting around, and its the boring type of waiting around" - haven't we said the same thing?

LOL, then he goes on to compare the lifts negatively against the lifts in drum roll Cyberpunk :D
He should give up and stream dying light 2...plenty do do in that :)

Yeah i don't know what is going on over there but honestly if problems do arise, and its usually server related crap.... they are on top of it pretty quickly, even at 2AM Monday Morning.

But this whole week end it seems its slowly degraded, yesterday the whole thing fell apart, nothing worked, i was spawned at Area 18 despite being based at MIC L1, i had a hospital gown on and was not given a basic space suit and helmet, i could not buy a space suit or helmet, the shops didn't work, i had to go naked to Grim Hex because that was the only other place you could get a space suit where you didn't have to go in to the vacuum of space to get in the station, once i did that i found Xeno threat was running but no one was getting the mission in MobiGlass, in fact most of the mission just weren't in the MobiGlass.

I have never seen it that broken and as far as i know it still is.

A few more of his comments (literally!) within a few minutes:

"When you spend 2 weeks playing other games that work and you come back to SC and literally the first thing in 2 weeks, you load into SC, and literally nothing works"

"There is literally nothing to do
[in Orison]"

"Everything in Star Citizen is just so bland"

"
[right after advising a bugged out viewer to Alt F4, his elevator bugs out] I literally can´t make it up"

"I have said this so many times, the product isn´t the game, the product is the website"

"you had 5 FPS on XT, totally unplayable? Oh really?"

And much more!

He's going to disturb the devs, then they will have to remove something else!

Lol reminds me about little tutorial video I made on "how to install Ubuntu 20.04 Server edition, in virtual machine" for students of certain course.
First thing. Installer nearly tricks me offering newer version of itself. Don't update that it will cause installer to freeze. Installer anyway fails on downloading updates, cancelling updates just cause also infinite loop. Need to do hard reset on virtual machine. (That surely builds up new users trust, while said trick works)... Ok it boots without isssue and allows updating it afterwards. Nasty thing is that this bugged version of installer has been default one from start to even newest 20.04 builds....You just need to know its quirks.

Further hassle had nothing to do with faults of Ubuntu. I checked my footage, and found out that it did not have sound at all. Ticked wrong box in recorder. Whole video needed to be after recorded with this time narration on.

Some of these SC content creators just don't get it, this includes SaltEMike who has been advocating for the removal of the release view of the roadmap for some time making the same argument that CIG made when they did basically make it meaningless.

He also thinks the release view is a distraction because it makes people upset, and that's what i find so frustrating about these people, even SaltEMike has absolutely no interest in holding CIG to account for progress

SaltEMike quotes from the video.

And this is the argument he has been making for some time, its the same argument CIG used in that we cannot be trusted to temper our expectations of anything on the roadmap being true.
I find it astonishing that people just don't expect CIG to deliver on anything, more than that it is our fault if we do and get upset when they don't, what? what is going on here????????

I mean, I agree with him in general.

Did you actually believe anything that was on the release view a year out?

CIG said not to trust it and they have proven by their actions that they are incapable of forecasting anything out a year.

If CIG just scaled back the release view to the next patch there probably would not be anywhere near this blowup.

People are mad that CIG said not nice things to them. Even when what CIG said was true. I can't believe CIG said it, but just goes to show how "open" they are. :ROFLMAO:

Or if they had just said "Hey, we are scaling back the road map and removing the projected timeframes, because, hehehe, as you all have noticed, our estimates haven't been great. This is what happens when you try and estimate how long it will take to do things no one else has ever done before, hehehe. So rather than continuing to disappoint you, we are going to focus the roadmap on short term items that are ready for release"

And the backers would have lapped that up and continued singing CIG praises to the heavens..
