To Solo Play Players: If You Could Disable PVP, Would You Play in Open Play Mode Instead?

Correct me if I'm wrong.
How do I choose the right group within the game? I do not use the forum, discord, inara, etc.
I want to interact with random people in the game.
You can try searching the squadrons, decide which aspects of the gameplay interest you most.
A larger sqn will tend to have lots of things going on at once and more people to meet.

I wrote this to show that such mechanisms are not in the game itself. And you do not need to point to outside programs.

Im not trying to be a jerk. But when it is already so rare to encounter another commander, there is no need at all for a pvp toggle in open. There is private and solo for that.

Space is huge and it is incredibly simple to avoid other players. I think that people grossly overinflate how often they encounter other people let alone how often they are attacked.

You can't search sqns in the right panel?
Maybe I don't quite understand you? Why do I need squadrons? I'm asking how do I find a private group to have only pve means of play? And by the way one person from the forum a long time ago found out about Mebius, joined it, started flying there ... and some commander for fun killed him there. I do not remember kicked out or not, but it is a fact that the game has no co-op mode.

Sqns tend to run their own PGs with their own rules.
If you want one they are there.
Mobius is quite notorious for kicking cmdrs who shoot at others.

DBOBE effectively ruled it out in the Engineers launch stream - and Bruce indicated that it was rather unlikely.
So I see the NPC as a painted square and the CMDR as a hollow square :))))

In principle, it all makes sense. We will mainly fly in the single player game and if we want to have some fun, we will occasionally fly into the open game.

And yet, there are locations that have much more players, and if you enjoy seeing other players, without having to fear being shoot at, then how do you do that if you are in solo?
This is very location dependat. visit deciat. visit founders world,. visit the current community goal etc these are well known locations where you can regularly find other players.

Just the fact that you say you are not trying to be a jerk is quite telling about your motives, that is a pretty big jerk-move on your part to begin with.

...

I wouldn't call it notorious considering it's what they're set up for.
I've never had any bad interaction in Mobius though, it's always been very friendly. I haven't heard of a successful infiltration for a couple of years.

It's in reference to the apparently harsh implementation of the rules which effectively preclude consentual PvP, piracy, and allegedly friendly fire in a CZ.
Obviously a consequence of the prior infiltration but still has consequences itself.

This looks like a fundamental misunderstanding of the desire for a PvP toggle. Players asking for a toggle aren't looking to "avoid other players", they are looking to interact with other players in a purely cooperative mode. The tools for that do not exist in this game.

It's not a "harsh implementation of the rules" - the PG is PvE only, regardless of the situation, i.e. pirates don't get to prey on players in the PG, there are other PGs (and Open) for players to engage in consensual PvP, etc..

I may misremember this, but I do believe that at the beginning it was indeed not strictly forbidden to attack other players in CZs, that is, until some jokers abused this and then the "harsher implementation" was put in effect.

Exactly this. Some players would wait and see which side the other player(s) in a CZ chose - then pick the other one, to manufacture an excuse to PvP.

If there's anything that falls short of the number of reasons why you can possibly enjoy the mere sight of other players, it's probably that of the reasons why you have to fear of being shot at by them. :)
