Update on Communication

Arf was kind enough to drop in to pass on a few words to "the community" and here we are, 30 pages in, discussing pretty much anything but the content of that post.
Do you really think Arf was being 'kind' to drop in?

It came after non Elite FD streams and notices were being inundated with questions because of the lack of info on Elite's own forums, and after Arf's christmas message which went conveniently unaddressed.

Apologies for picking out your post Rat, but kind isn't the word I'd use for him doing his job, and I for one would have been a lot less bothered by the lack of comms if they'd warned us they needed time (unless it was just so they could spend lots of time on Warhammer ...)

You're right that the thread has run its course though, other than to funnel frustration into a single place which I realise includes posts like this one, so maybe that's enough reason for it to exist.

putting me serious head on for a moment, I get the impression there's not enough cm's for the games they have, "our" cm's are being pulled into other projects with the latest one being 40k, what else have they got coming this year? F1 is it? cant see it changing much now

Certainly since 2021 wasn't the financial year FD hoped for, you're right. New recruitment might be on pending .. +1

Given the oriental theme of the Tiger spacesuits (got to take my hat off to the design team who are CONSTANTLY surprising) I kind of wondered if the CM's aren't in a full time 'learn to speak Mandarin,' conversational Chinese course. I expect players over there are a bit more zen about their first world probs too. Because with Sally notwithstanding the minute the CM's stick their head up above the parapet here, they seem to get it bitten off.

Now I'm not advocating or condoning any abuse, but firstly, they're getting paid for their job and secondly, they willingly signed up for it. If you're going to work with customers, you unfortunately need a thick skin, especially on the internet.

Perhaps we've misunderstood. We're supposed to be managing the community managers and frankly, we're just not doing a very good job.
That's... I didn't even look at it like this. Could it be that they're just massively disappointed that we're over half a year in and we still haven't improved much?

I got patched only 3 times during that time, that could be the problem.

No worries in choosing my comment, old friend.

What I think, compared to that which I am permitted to post on this forum, may not align perfectly.

Being an "old-fashioned englishman" (Yes, I go out in the midday sun too) I used quaint talk to avoid causing distress to those for whom my every utterence is perused for potential content suitable to report.

My true thoughts may be found on the SotG discord, of course, as discussion there is considerably more relaxed than here.

So, I stick to my comment that Arf was kind enough to post, it is unlikely to cause distress to others.

Exactly this.
I think he/they are pushed what with W40k AND redefining what is and what isn't happening with EDH/EDO, due to new financial Year.

Not excusing it, but haven't you noticed that everywhere in this time, when people leave or are off sick, everyone gets forced by the boss with second job to cover the guy off - (companies use the 'business needs' excuse).

And that's all perfectly fine and well, as long as the customer won't notice.
