Colonia Bridge CG Phase 4 Week 1 Reward - a mistake?

The last Colonia Bridge CG a few weeks ago gave us three pre-engineered FSD's and about 50.000.000 Credits for the Top 10% (approx., I don't remember the exact amount anymore).

Now the current CG offers only Credits and it's mentioned with:
For this week’s initiative, contributing pilots have the opportunity to be rewarded with a generous number of credits

Currently, the Top 10% will receive 4.000.000 Credits, and reaching tier 3 is unlikely. The huge difference it rewards in conjunction with the generous from above I'm wondering whether this is a mistake?

Problem is - if they change it now then they'll get a barrage of "I would have contributed over the weekend, but didn't because the rewards were so pitiful and now I have no time left to play..." etc, etc, etc...

In universe - it seems they realised they don't actually need to incentivise people other than the stations being built and outfitted, so why bother?

Perhaps they want this initial phase to fail for some lore / story-telling reason? I personally chose not to play this time...well, I did one run, saw the trade profits were meagre, and that, combined with no FSD reward meant it simply wasn't worth my time.

I certainly hope they don't change the rules as they go along. It should be clear-cut. This first phase is ok to make modest profits hauling cargo, with a small bonus potential. Hopefully the next phase will offer more incentive.

I mean, this MUST be a deliberate choice right? FDev know how much people wanted those FSD rewards, so why not offer them, or something similar, this time?

You will be generously paid for commodities. Even coffee pays pretty well, so I guess that's what it ment.

It's only 10-15k profit per unit, depending on which one you're hauling. That's pretty low when it comes to hauling. I mean, I was making ~40k per unit doing regular trade runs the other night. Basically, depending on the ship I'm in, that was 9 million per CG trade run vs 28 million per run at one point. Those very profitable runs do dry up quickly though, and seem to pop up Thursday Mornings, I don't play till Thursday eve - if I get to play at all - so often catch these particularly lucrative runs a bit late.

Sure, the money isn't terrible, depending on how far you need to travel to buy for a good price, but it's far less than regular trading outside of the CG gives. The prior hauling CG for Colonia Bridge was making far better money.

If they'd wanted that to even be a possibility they'd have set considerably higher targets. Actually the targets were basically "can't fail" levels.

Tier 2 (the last reachable one) on the Alcor side was 14 million, an amount which only one trade CG ever - the Kumo Crew's invention of Helix - has failed to make.
Tier 2 on the Colonia side was set around 250,000 which is considerably lower than any Colonia trade CG has ended up since we stopped relying on goods being hauled up from the bubble for them.

I don't object to the payouts being what they are - I don't need the credits, the meaningful goals are already both reached without issue - but it actually pays considerably less credits than the previous Colonia Bridge CG did, when that one wasn't even intended to be a credit-motivating one, so it's not unreasonable given the word "generous" to wonder if some mistake was made.

The game is more fun for me when I’m doing at least a bit of role playing. I try to get as much in game stuff to fit into that as I can. When I saw the rewards this time I thought, “This isn’t a super high priority for the Brewer Corporation.” The actual building of the stations was a huge undertaking and probably massively important to Brewer and the rewards reflected that. This time they’re just adding a few more parts. It’s a smaller, lower priority task so a lower reward has been offered. The idea that the reward is so low that someone at Brewer is actually hoping it will fail is interesting. Maybe they’re low on funds after having to pay for all those new stations and double engineered modules.

Plus we'll just forget that Brewer actually sell UC offices for... Somewhat less...
Not exactly sell, though, is it?
A module may be purchased for one's FC, and Brewer will refund the same amount should one decide the module is redundant.

Not as if one might buy 100 or so then sell them on at a profit...

The problem as i see is:

1) the CG text advertising for generous number of credits.
The current CG rewards are worthy of any conceivable laughing meme out there

2) the tiering, it's really weird.
T1 and T2 were achieved by Friday.
But then there are no more tiers to run for. Why would everyone keep doing it past tier 2?
There are plenty of trading loops out there that are paying more than 15k/t per run.

If it was set to complete at 1bn, then why 3 tiers only? Why not 11 tiers?
IMO, for a 1bn set target, it should have like 11 tiers. SO again, why not?

Seriously - this entire combination looks like trolling.
Did they hired an intern for the CG and the said intern is still at learning-the-ropes phase?

Doing the CG is optional, if one is not impressed by the reward offered, simply ignoring it and doing the next stage might be a reasonable idea... Assuming the next stage is considered spending time doing, that is.

I chose to ignore phase 1, for pretty much the same reason, not worth the time and effort.

Same here.
And i would not have had anything to comment about this CG if it didn't specifically mentioned

rewarded with a generous number of credits

I still remember the last CG from December 2019 - when my fresh Steam alt, participated in a Type-6, non engineered of course, and managed to get like 40+ millions for getting into Top 50% in the Trade CG.
And it also got in the Top50% for the corresponding bounty CG, using a C3 also non-engineered, getting another 20 millions.

Now that was generous.

Doing the CG for credits aint the best way to get credits..

That's not valid at all, the 4 billions jump (from my Epic alt inara account) came from the Data relogging CG.
That was even more generous than my previous example
