State of the Game

So, er, this thread still lives? Awesome!

Sorry for my long absence, IRL issues, but it's all good. Might even get back to annoying people in game soon. Those who need to be annoyed, of course. :)

Missed you guys!!!

Ahoy hoy there matey! Glad to see you both back, and hoping you come join the discord...?!

It's like here, but better in every conceivable way.

And no, he isn't.

Thats Deanna Troi leotard moments I think.....
Troi would fit in on discovery if they want more feelings and crying.

But 7 of 9 is definitely a better exploitative character than Troi, T'Pol, Uhura or Jadzia

Though T'Pol definitely gave 7 of 9 a run for her money on just blatant-ness of it. Gotta decontaminate.

Makes me wonder something....

How uncomfortable would it be to get your horn on whilst wearing a leotard? Do you think Ender would know?

Not sure I want to know his experience though....

Not a whole lot of costumes in the scene we're involved in. Less is more type of deal.

Didn't really answer the question. Even more unpleasant.

It's pretty wild seeing how many script kiddies are trying to hack websites via random subnet scans. makes you appreciate the futility of trying to stop cheaters and the like. You're always vastly outnumbered by simple brute force effort.

also makes the idea of peaceful contact with the thargoids a certain impossibility. With the numbers of humans alive, no single government to represent them, even a small fraction that didn't agree with peace would be a significant number capable of making that peace fall apart and devolve into the only state it can, hostile. Peace requires a united response ...war would only require a little violence at the introductory stage. Which is more likely? Thargoids would have experienced this multiple times thru it's millions and millions of years in space. It would make sense they would already assume war with any new sentient species it meets in space. So the idea that thargoids came to us in peace makes no sense. They at best, just didn't even register us as intelligent and at worst, were not in a position to deliver an offensive response.

will be interesting to see how fdev spins thins when they're finally ready to proceed with the narrative involving them and we can stop the fluff around the empire. Looking forward to see if they give thargoids a voice ...or if we'll only be treating them like animals.

never. i have been going thru access logs of a couple of my unlinked web servers though and the "get" urls attempted are pretty extensive and varied. quite a lot of options for exploits currently in play.

my firewall drop list has grown to include quite a lot of ips recently.
