Quit disturbing the devs with your expectations!Wasn´t server meshing supposed to come at the end of 2022 anyways?
Or is that chart just capped at the end of the year so all tasks shown to finished there may actually continue beyond?

Its an interesting theory. Are the whitest of white knights actually heavily invested in the game or not? Are they people who think they can invest the minimum and others will carry the project, do they really believe CR when he says things like if funding dries up they will just release SQ42 and finish SC based on the funds from that? Or are they lying, and they do not minimally invest, but instead are in for tens of thousands?
I don't care what CIG say (or Frontier for that matter), I only care what they do.For star citizen, just put your rational had back on. Say you legitimately wanted the idea and expected it to be developed. When would you have written it off with no external pressure? Star Citizen is literally duke nukem forever in 2022 if it wasn't for the cult spinning it around?

Chart includes hefty margins, apparently. Plus there's been things that still had like 3 quarters of work on the progress tracker that were released into the Alpha.Wasn´t server meshing supposed to come at the end of 2022 anyways? Or was it planned for earlier in the year?

Server Meshing has been coming every year since 2018.Wasn´t server meshing supposed to come at the end of 2022 anyways? Or was it planned for earlier in the year?

True, true, was just referring to the latest incarnation.Server Meshing has been coming every year since 2018.

Given their propensity to reinvent the wheel, why not, remember "iCache" and "Server Meshing" which are CiG names for things that exist under other names. Is it true CIG is trying to build their own graph database?
Is it true CIG is trying to build their own graph database?
I mean, those are terms that are very broad and it is sensible to build custom networking infrastructure depending on the needs of a game. But specifically buiilding a custom db is a fool's errand, hence my question.Given their propensity to reinvent the wheel, why not, remember "iCache" and "Server Meshing" which are CiG names for things that exist under other names.
It was probably stated as much sometime last year, maybe CitCon. But yeah, it's not arriving this year now:True, true, was just referring to the latest incarnation.
So right up CIG's alley, innit?.... But specifically buiilding a custom db is a fool's errand, hence my question.
When will we see Persistent Streaming and Server Meshing in the PU?
Our current aim is to release Persistent Streaming and the first version of the Replication layer, ideally, between Q1 and Q2 next year. We’ll then follow up with the first version of a static server mesh, barring any unforeseen technical complications, between Q3 and Q4, of next year.
Do you think this is a good thing?'Static Server Meshing' is supposed to arrive in Q3/Q4 this year. (And with it, the grand 4.0 step into multiple solar systems with database persistence. All Chris's intriguing definitions of 'release')
CIG have also stopped forecasting beyond this quarter.
Do you think this is a good thing?
