Update on Communication

Meet and greet is gonna be awkward as hell and won't be a place for reveals of any kind. Also it's the place for probably the most loyal of fans so won't really be a place where they are amidst the most sceptical.
Release for console?? Don't make us laugh, the thing still isn't running right on PC. It isn't coming to console.. at least not to the original consoles and even then it's nowhere near ready. The fact that nearly a year after launch they can't work out what it tanking the performance proves they either don't have the resources to deal with the problem or are incompetent. I personally believe it's a resource issue of not enough coders who are cognizant of the COBRA engine and the code itself that are free to tackle the problems.
10 updates in and bugs introduced each update are still going unfixed multiple weeks after introduction. They have also lost key members of the team. Yes they are in trouble.
Add to this that there is a significant goings on concerning the value of the company and potential future instability. The Frontier we see now may not be the Frontier we see in a few weeks time.

Exactly my point -- it makes no sense. The simplest explanation is they want to use the meet to communicate, not continue the current silence. They know what will result if they attend the meet with nothing.
Pretty sure they said before the meet and greet will just be to interact with their loyal fan base.. It's not a press release situation with preferential treatment of those there.

Apart from Dr Ross (who may or may not have been a key member currently - she was a team head, not the entire team) who else has left?
Maybe when it was originally scheduled in Dec, but much of the community sentiment is very different right now than it was then.....and FDEV know it. If they don't use the meet to do SOMETHING to give some news, or throw us a bone just beforehand, it will indeed be a very uncomfortable meet for those FDEV reps that attend.
That's why they have Interns.
With Sally off for at least another 4 weeks, Arf recovering from Covid, Zac possibly with their own issues, it doesn't leave many CMs to meet & greet...
If there are any Devs attending, I'd certainly hope that the attendees remain polite... (but, as it will be in person and visible I doubt if anything other than nice things would be said... Internet warriors have anonymity to protect themselves, after all!)

The development lifecycle looks like a finely oiled machine in comparison to the content and delivery of official comms.
What I would really like is if they introduced Carrier Interiors without telling any of us just to see how long it would take people to notice.Maybe it's just a trick to build up so much hype for the Carrier Interiors that, when they finally appear, they will become a sensational self-seller as soon as the hype bubble finally bursts. And nothing builds up so much hype than deep silence.

In the current pandemic situation (yes even (especially?) if Prime Minister Johnson says everything can go back to normal now) i would be half minded to cancel the event personally speaking, then add on the complicated Odyssey stuff; do you want more CM's leaving/getting ill?
Unless they have a blinder of a show to reveal and 100% ready for primetime info that will blow away all the drama and concern and push ED right to the front of their portfolio, why have a show at all in the current situ?

Docked on a carrier, the 'Disembark' button is currently greyed out. It would only be a matter of minutes or hours before someone spotted it had been enabled.
It isn't a "show & tell", allegedly, just a "meet the folks" type event.
But Why? especially now? Seems an odd call that maybe made more sense back when it was planned?
Why change the original plan? That makes no sense at all.
ETA: The attendees have paid for a meet & greet (maybe with pizza) - changing it to a lecture from some middle manager on takeover progress would leave a bitter taste for those who spent their money for a social event.
Depends if they got pineapple pizza.
