Update on Communication

I am unaware of the sabotage aspect, what happened?
This is the best interview on the subject, really candid, including the weird decision to manufacture the CD32 in the Philippines and the problems that caused:

Basically Commodore UK had the buyout strategy organised plus the all important financing ready but Escom pulled the rug out from under them by going behind the scenes to collapse the all important manfuacturing deal with a Chinese based company. Escom promsed them a better deal but ended up dropping them too once they got the sale, pretty disgusting!

Commodore UK financing plan was going to retain Amiga Engineering in the US to bring out the new Hombre chipset collaboration with HP (CD64 etc would have had PS like 3D capabities at simliar launch time but infinitely better computing and multimedia capabilites compared to the PS) which was close to fruition but Escom on winning the bid sacked them all and scrapped the hardware development so they could put Commodore branding in their beige box PC retail outlets. If that is not industrial sabotage I dont know what is!

I wonder if that is because of the amount of 'love letters' he got from 'those' players?
Passionate love letters from passionate players who only want to see Elite be the best it can be who will try their utmost to dissuade anyone from supporting FDev till they get their way on x and/or y and/or z thing.

Very much hope you're right, KCalo.
Me too, I'm usually pretty cynical and since I'm on console I'm a bit leary to go so far as to expect to see anything console-related. If we get to the weekend without seeing some sort of positive news either before or at this event, then we might be doomed. I'll personally save that for next week though lol

It's no wonder there is a huge thread in dangerous discussions about the rumoured takeovers, by all of the usual suspects, and some unexpected ones too. Check it out if you haven't yet.
I've seeing, but I think the issue is not here. There are more than one publication (not connected with games) saying that.
And... communication skills are extremely important in times like this. :)

Well, putting it into perspective Arf started this thread just over two weeks ago, and then apparently he and someone else was hit with Covid for a week or so. Whatever progress they might have made on whatever it is they're supposed to be working on is delayed just in that. On top of all of this, they have the get-together this week that they're planning/preparing for, I assume, so that's going to take time away from whatever it is too. Or, maybe it'll push them to finish whatever it is for a big reveal at the event.

Assuming Arf isn't just blowing smoke up our you-know-whats, his original statement two weeks ago has a lot of positives for EDO. Apparently, there will be a new storyline starting up after the Azimuth Saga, updates and content expansions, and some twitch drop campaigns (which has to be a positive for the ED streamers).

All of that is positive imo. It doesn't explain why they have to go completely dark during all of this or why they have been so silent since the holiday break in December, but that's their MO. I think good things are coming for EDO, we just have to wait for them and just have to suck it up and accept this strange new silence.
I am not buying this. It has been what 2 months now? I hope this is because of a buyout. That would be the only valid excuse I can see.

Like I said, it doesn't explain the silence since December but is a possible excuse at least for the last two weeks. Guess we'll find out in a few days.
