Rewards for Chaos Theory

The update making all animals instantly unlocked from the get go, REALLY irked me. Because it effectively made all the hours I put into Both challenge and Chaos Theory to unlock everything feel kind of wasted. The only saving grace (at least for challenge mode) was that you still need to 5-star each map on hard difficulty to obtain special cosmetics, sadly though that means there really isn't any point to play chaos theory anymore (or at least 100% it) other than to unlock the maps they're on... and even then you don't need to 5-star them to unlock them. So I propose we add some new rewards exclusive to chaos theory and/or meeting certain objectives while playing, rewards that will ONLY unlock once you complete said objectives (as not all of them are about building a park). I don't know what these rewards could be, but anything to make them worth completing is better than nothing.

Man, I put in the time to 100% this game too and I cannot stress enough how much it felt like the game was wasting my time already. They were never rewards because it didn't feel rewarding. The only thing that's changed is that nobody needs to have their time wasted again - that's a good thing.
in other words you are too lazy to be bothered to play the game as it was intended and bypass earning things for yourself... Sorry but that really cheapens things for others and it would feel like a big slap in the face if it were to happen to anything else.

Dude, you need glasses. I just said 100% completed the game before the update. I unlocked every dinosaur, finished every Jurassic challenge, got every achievement, finished the database.

I did "earn" it all for myself but it didn't feel like I "earned" anything because it was so much pointless busywork. The only reason I put up with it is because I have a literal mental illness that makes me an obsessive completionist and I'm certain that everyone else who unlocked everything must be mentally ill too.

The game "as it was intended" was an annoying, poorly designed grind and I'm glad people are no longer forced to put up with that nonsense.

You say the update unlocking everything makes you feel like your hours are wasted, but the game was already wasting your time before the update.

Wrong on all accounts, if you honestly believe you were wasting your time and want to have everything handed to you from the get go then i have news for you... you are playing the wrong game.

Apparently not, because we get everything handed to us now. Tough .

If you think the game is wasting your time unless it throws rewards at you like a carrot on a stick, I have news for you... you don't actually like the game, you just like dopamine. You're a rat in a box pushing a button for your next fix.

Exactly. One of the most accurate responses I've seen on this forum.

Oh yes I agree but the rewards are pretty much the new maps each time chaos mode is released so maybe more could be considered by Frontier Developers.

They would have to be something special, objects or cosmetics tied to each movie maybe? I would say the legacy skins but sadly those were easy to unlock even before the patch. No idea what the rewards would be bot SOMETHING to make Chaos Theory be played through would be great.

Chaos Theory is entertaining enough for what it is JP3 and Fallen Kingdom aside.

It's more like the JWE Campaign which a lot of people like and miss, they are just isolated scenarios rather than being all interconnected.

Entertainment has nothing to do with it, it's the need to play them at all. Challenge mode is not only fun but you get something out of it in the end, Sandbox Is an experience so great that mere words are not enough to describe it (it's more for the need to create than to be challenged). Chaos Theory on the other hand... has nothing. there's no reason to play it to completion other than for the maps (and even then you don't need to complete the game for most of them). A game needs to be fun to play sure, but if there's no reason to play a feature of a game then what's the point of even having it?

I would argue that the stories presented in the Campaign and Chaos Theory Modes would be sufficient motivations to play through those modes, as they offer a narrative experience that can't be provided by the Challenge and Sandbox Modes.

On the contrary, entertainment has everything to do with it. Its narrative-driven and adds the park building aspect that Campaign gave up for its more hands-on approach. Chaos Theory provides you a series of objectives along the way, its giving you reason to continue playing from the very start. You might not enjoy those objectives, as fun is subjective, but it has clear motivation for you to do things. What you are describing is the lack of a completion award; however, it is not really necessary and there is a strong chance all this will do is upset another group of people who complain that more content is locked behind gameplay modes they don't want to play. We have already had threads of people complaining that even something as small as skins being Challenge-only rewards is too much.

I think Chaos Theory is fine as is, it still has its own progression system to incentivize you to go a little further each step along the way and there is a clear objective at all times.

not really, because the same could also be said about the Campaign then. and there's NO reason what so ever to play that anymore thanks to this update. Not to mention, people provide their own lore and story narrative to their own sandbox maps all the time... Just look at Evolution Square. So Story simply isn't enough either.

I quite literally did say that the Campaign Mode can a unique narrative experience. Update 2 didn't remove the stories and cutscenes, so there's still a reason to play them so you can see how the story progresses.
Even with head-cannoning a self-created story in the Challenge and Sandbox modes, you don't get the same narrative atmosphere provided by the voice actors discussing what's going on and giving the player a reason to be in their position.

Objective with ZERO reward. There's no reason to play it other than for maps, which even then there's no reason to play through all of it. Not much point of having a story if there's no reason to play. Threads like what you described are made by impatient children who really have no business being on the internet (much less playing a Rated T game) or lazy man-children who could solve a puzzle even if they cheated, the kind of people who really shouldn't be playing a park builder. It's stupid to ask for, and it defeats the point of even having different modes at all.

Technically you do, As they still speak out when you release dinosaurs and/or do anything to mistreat them. so it's not like the character's aren't there. Chaos Theory didn't have much in terms of story. Just characters giving you objectives, and the Campaign is the punch line to a joke if you thought something so incomplete had narrative, especially since it was to act more like a tutorial anyway.

Sure, though the characters giving you objectives can still be a compelling reason to play that mode. It gives you a much more immediate idea that you're working with these characters to accomplish goals. You don't have to like the story presented, but nonetheless it still exists as a motivator for players to play that mode.

Not really, they don't act any differently than they do in Sandbox. They just have more to say because they are scripted to say them. It's not like when a fight breaks out in Sandbox and Clair tells you to put a stop to it. Even if a story is good, it isn't really a reason to play it.
