I'm a console player and I have my console linked to my FDev account. I bought elite for the PC in 2015, totally forgot I had, and just discovered that I had :) It was purchased on the same frontier account the my console is linked to. Can I use the same account on PC and Console? I know my "stuff" isn't transferable, but just wanted to make sure trying the PC version with that frontier account won't wipe my console progress that uses the same frontier account. Does that make sense?

It seems very clear that Frontier do not give a toss about the console community, representing a loyal fanbase who played and supported their game since preview program. I am highly ashamed as a brit of the way this British developer has handled themselves in this instance.

I expected better of Mr Braben and co. What's worse is they kept us waiting a year and never gave a legitimate reason, nor did they suggest how accounts could be transferred.

That's it. I am done now. All the time I was supporting Frontier and defending the decisions, but that was a slap in the face. If you can't handle it then don't do it. I was playing Elite since the game preview and was spending a lot of money in it, it was the first game on my new TV and on my Series X, but with that I am done with Elite and Frontier.

I'm on the fence with this myself. I do enjoy Horizons, not as much as I did a year ago, but if there's no story or content then it's going to get a bit boring after a while. I don't know, not rushing off to delete it, but I'll be checking in to see how active it still is before making a decision.

I've got to the point in horizons where only community goals and the little puzzles like azimuth kept me interested. I have an FC, 15bn+ creds, every ship etc etc

Yeah, I guess there's still lots of exploring that can be done when I feel like hopping on to do it. Like I said, not gonna delete, but it's definitely not a focus anymore and hasn't really been for several months now. It does make it easier looking into other games to invest my time, so there's that.

The even bigger problem is that the console servers will be shut down soon. I bet it will be no more than a year before they shut down the game completely. All our results, ships, assets will just cease to exist. I could play with Horizons for many years but Frontier won't let us. They'll just pull the rug from under us.

I called this REPEATEDLY in here and on the twitter so much so that ive been suspended on here for "causing conflict" and BANNED from frontiers twitter and elite dangerous twitter because id comment "wheres that news about you guys keeping your promise to bring Odessey to console?" I GOT massive flak from all the fan boys despite explaining that this was THE game me and my buddies played and sunk over 1000 hours into. and i said repeatedly that were never gonna get it and that they plan to kill the console base in their game. I WAS RIGHT. its a sad vindication because believe me no one wanted to be more wrong but in the end FRONTIER SUCKS. look at the crap they are putting out. look at what they put ahead of elite let alone the console version of elite. screw them. who ever started this im guessing they arent there anymore because the vision stalled after horizon. Best of luck to those that stay and i recommend finding another space sim altogether, because these aholes dont deserve your time or money as gamers or customers. honestly if you can afford to give Star Citizen a try on pc or hopefully NMS expands and add pvp, player factions and multi crew ships and believe me hello games is far more deserving of trust to pull THAT off than these guys are with anything. Best of luck former commanders and may i see you in those other games. im DONE with elite.

Super disappointed. Mostly disappointed in myself.
Disappointed I ever brought ARX to support development
Disappointed I brought more than one copy of the game.
Disappointed I got other people into playing it.
Disappointed I fed and push communities that promoted this game.
Disappointed I got other Frontier games just to give more money to the studio.

I'll be writing off any Frontier games from this point on.

The saddest part is there are a lot of good capable programmers that play this game and sooo many of us warned fdev.
We knew where EDO would take us.
Some of us actually understand the complexity of merging 2 programs together to try and make a new program.
And as I pointed out, even Microsoft would not attempt something like this.
Wanting to replicate all the connections and variables in Horizons for making EDO functional within Horizons would take a similar effort as to what it took to get HORIZONS functional.
This means a 4 year effort.
Only a fool or NON-programmers or in-experienced programmers would be blind to that.
Its sad that it went this way.
Its sad that Braben apparently does not have someone to warn him this could/would happen.

For the sake of the future of ED, I really hope they come up with a solution, this is not a solution, this is E.D.'s Death Knell.

This is most certainly a shame, fps stuff aside I was looking forward to flying my vulture through some nice looking canyons on planets.

I can understand that the have no idea on how to fix the first person elements and so just wanna focus on it.
I can't really say the same for the updated look of planets though.
Won't lie I certainly haven't been as active in ED as I was in the past but seeing as we are not getting any new content I guess its just time to let it go.

Anyone mind bringing me up to speed on the whole console situation? i only just caught wind of it. i heard from a friend that the console servers are being shut down
