I feel for the console CMDrs but at the same time I totally expected this after the big screw you the VR community got from the game because that was hard to do. I suppose at this point we can just assume anything thats even remotely difficult to do or implement is off the table for this title?

if you were Microsoft, would you purchase an incompetent company that delivered nothing (except for lies) for the past 5 years? I doubt MS is willing to take this risk (or any other large studio out there).
Maybe but I don’t think so. I’m not informed enough to argue that point but my gut says Sony doesn’t own player game data.
I never thought Odyssey was going to come out for Xbox One and PS4 after playing Odyssey on the PC. The hardware was just to weak to run it.
I get this is bad news, but lets keep it in perspective that its just a game.

Oh come on! if it allows them to release even more awesome updates to the PC version, why not? I think it's a good idea.
With so many more people on last gen hardware and not the newest, why bother investing all that time and money for like 5% of the playerbase? If you can't get it to the overwhelming majority of console players, then it isn't worth it
It's not so much that refocusing is a bad thing, just that it took this long to admit it and continue. (There was always going to be fallout.) I agree its a game, It's a game that console players have invested time and money in to only to see themselves let down by a company that allowed this to go on for so long.
That’s what they make though. Games. So if you lose trust/confidence in their ability to manage and develop games then how is that dramatic?
And yet those potato PC's that people still run ED weren't holding it back?
That argument has long since been debunked , enough. And doesn't make sense in a world where Series S /X and PS5 exist anyway.
You do know that the manpower difference between Microsoft/Asobo is just slightly different than that of Frontier, yeah?
