What I'd really like to see if FDev really feel guilty is a refund if any ARX that I have spent on the game. I'm not talking anything that I've spent already on cosmetics and ship kits or even the free ARX I've accrued (even though I earned them through playing their game), but the ones I spent my own money on through the Xbox Store. I have over 20k and there's others who have even more than me.
What will FDev be doing to soften the blow to those of us who have spent money in the game with the promise that Odyssey was coming and the future of Elite was promising. because a free transfer of my Commander to PC isn't even a gesture when it means forking out for a gaming rig.

I'm not a fan of the Odyssey engine changes myself but what can you do? The focus will help (hopefully) for polish and improvements but it still shouldn't have been like this.
PS5 & Series X weren't out when Elite was released on consoles, I'm not sure what your trying to say with that honestly.
Situations change, it is the nature of things.
My own take fwiw is that FDev weighed up the cost/return of porting Odyssey to consoles along with the potential negative of another poor launch if they have to make it like Ark Evolved on the Switch to make it happen, and decided ultimately that there were many downsides and the return/upside wasn't justified in comparison to the risks, taking into account the current age of the console generation it was targeted for.
I agree, it's unfortunate for all concerned.
I can only imagine what the previous 70 pages of this thread look like...

I seriously doubt partial refunds like that are going to happen. That's a financial nightmare to try and iron out, especially for bookkeeping. Doable? Yes. Likely? Not at all.

Sure, before launch we were supposed to have a PC/Console common launch
Then May launch for PC and Autumn Launch for Consoles
Then Console dev was put on hold
Now Console dev was just canceled.
When they shut the servers down completely and you have zero access to it, then you may have a slim chance. At the moment you have complete access to what you've purchased. I'm on console as well and have the same access today as I did on Wednesday.
Yeah it does suck. I know lots of console players I have lost touch with since EDO launched. It's a shame.
Which reminds me that i should log in my XB account and check my decals and the newly super-overcharged Powerplants
I logged in to my XBox account awhile back while the treasure hunt thing was going on with the free ships and credits and whatnot. No one on my friends list was in Elite anymore. Really is a shame. I feel for the console crowd. Really does bum me out.
