A Note for Arthur, Paul, and the rest of the FDev Community Management Team

The CM is supposed to be the person who is supposed to be hopping on the table saying, the community wants A and B and C, and making sure the Dev/Management teams don't forget who it is they are building this game for.
Which gets me back to the point of the first post I made in this thread.

That person a lot less likely to hop on the table and advocate for a community that spouts constant insults, abuse, demands, and threats, and throws a tantrum the second they feel their nose is slightly out of joint.

Similarly Obi, you're making it sounds like everyone sits around over a nice cup of tea calmly discussing the issues of the day, and agreeing to disagree when needed.

This place isn't the festering cesspits I've seen elsewhere, but it sure as ****e isn't the beautifully behaved collection of sensible individuals you make it out to be. I mean, you yourself got the hump over the tiniest jab from Zac, for gods sake. (Which ended up with the usual pile on from people doing the "oooh, that's out of order, you're not allowed to say things like that")

Let me show you how genuinely toxic players look like. Edit: It's so bad Youtube age restricted it:

That's not what I said. But you chose to put those over-the-top words in my mouth for dramatic effect, which is a shame. Doesn't make it easier to have a frank but fair discussion in my view but hey I'll keep trying anyways.

There it is again. I didn't suggest that at all. You do understand that not everything is black or white, right?
In fairness, the post you chose to quote was in response to

Mick, you're making it sound like close to everyone is behaving like that and the CMs are perma-fighting off hordes of nasty individuals.

So, y'know, putting "over-the-top words in your mouth for dramatic effect" seems to be doing the rounds. Either way, he's not the only one to have pointed out your rampant negativity about... well, everything in this thread. I've even mentioned it to you months back, missing the "a bit critical but balanced" poster I used to know.

But that aside negativity is one thing, if you don't think the constant nitpicking and insults from other corners of the forums takes a toll, you've not had to do this for a living before. Or lived with someone who has, who'd come home from work in tears. Arf didn't decide to post an announcement telling people to lay off his team just for the hell of it. So whether you choose to acknowledge it or not is irrelevant, it does happen. Even if its as sporadic and as isolated as you like to believe it is, it still happens. Think on who you're more likely to remember at the end of your day if you meet 99 people who are fine and cordial, but one chooses to insult and denigrate you.

And to reiterate my point again. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with constructive criticism. People just don't need to be @#$# about it.

He's a professional community manager and as such I (and apparently others) hold him to a somewhat higher standard when it comes to engaging with posters here, particularly when dealing with semi-disgruntled ones who will probably be a little more sensitive towards "jabs" being dismissively flung at after the PR :poop: show of the past year. That's almost literally adding insult to injury (you can tell I don't really buy his "it was just a joke lol" line but whatever).
It seems like Zac was 100% right and that's what actually upsets you the most. :D

Team, it was a lighthearted joke. I have no problem with @ObiW voicing his opinion - my apologies if the humour didn't come across.

Zac, you don't need to apologize!
If people are triggered, and can't take a joke or an opinion, THE PROBLEM IS ON THEIR SIDE!
Seriously, it's insane and terrible to work with Elite Community. Nothing is never good for them, and people in Fdev can't even express their opinion.

Zac and team don't give attention for these "karen bois"; seriously... People here has issues with youtubers who PROMOTE the game. 😑

"Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right." - Ricky Gervais

That I have always been negative, all the time? I'm afraid he's wrong.
If you absoultely must take him literally, it was worded as a question. So stop assuming what he might have meant or meant not. Unless you also give him the benefit of the doubt.

But thanks for jumping on the bandwagon, babelfisch.
You leave me no other choice.

PS
By the way, the people jumping on the bandwagon are those who roasted Zac for making a lighthearted comment.
