Refuelling revealed!

Once they accept the price, the Fuel Giver can open the "Pod Management" screen to adjust flow in or out of fuel pods that contain the desired fuel type. They can then start sending fuel by opening the nozzle and adjusting flow rate, while making sure not to extend past the nominal flow rate for too long. Players will receive a warning error when their flow rate is too high, which can escalate to a danger warning and eventually damage the refueling arm or both ships and result in loss of fuel. When the amount of requested fuel is filled, the player must close the nozzle on the refueling terminal to prevent overflow fuel spillage.

It’s a bit 'keep it in the green zone' for me. An elongated golf swing. But you can’t really gamify the process that much. And all the stuff about putting the cap back on afterwards is pleasing some immersion purists ;)

The real test will be overcoming the standard evo unwieldiness…

When docking to a Starfarer the player ship will snap below it

Buy one, get one free!

Melt the free one, now you've converted real money into CIG money.

The system works!

Well I mean you could directly buy CIG money with your $45 or whatever, but this is the point. If you directly buy the CIG money it just gets shown as income, but if you buy a second copy of SQ42 and melt the old one, that counts as 2 copies of SQ42 sold because the old one, even though it's melted, still gets shown as a sale, so they can boast higher sales number for SQ42 without actually having sold copies to more players!

Oh no, two more SC refugees!

Another thing. I bought several games, Ready or Not, Kingdom Come, Xuniverse, Baldur's Gate and Elite also, with my remaining SC sale money, and honestly, those games are so satisfying and a lot of them started off modestly like Star Citizen but actually tuned into proper games.

I mean, Elite´s own star based refuel mechanic is also based in a similar sweet spot principle whereby you have to trade refuel time with potential damage to the ship by controlling your supercruise steering and speed etc. So not much to say there, it works just fine (best refuelers do it sideways btw). Except that particular mechanic was already in game around 8 years ago and you didn´t need to buy 200$+ ships with real money for it.

Nothing wrong about it, until the broken physics engine throws ships around, and the server desync makes them crash into each other, or just gets you out of the green zone without you being able to do anything (*). And there are so many more ways that this could be completely broken like every other game mechanics so far.

(*) People who tried multiplayer mining will immediately know what I'm talking about here.

Oh god lol at this Papy chat about the SQ42 focus etc...

SQ42 almost in alpha ;)

Production is "stuck in the mud"

On that feeling of getting that extra dev focus, as he experienced it previously on the PU:

On the coffee vendor

Longer term they want vendors to run black markets.

(Lando rambles jokingly about trolling a bit with the question, and CIG being the only people who'd hire him. And then about turnover being a thing, and new guys not being thrown straight at Server Meshing.)

Quantum definitely isn't in yet. Good to know.

(This was all 'on track' to be in 3.16 of course. And like, to be in back in 2018 too ;))

Footnote: Most of the questions were incredibly salty. I'm guessing they came from...

SecretImpishGrassspider-max-14mb.gif

It's a whole hour. I'll probably listen to it while I'm doing a bit of trading in Elite. But just by glancing at the video, I'd like to say that Lando is one person in SC that I find very affable

...I'd like to say that without going into the specifics of why, as I don't want to be wandering into any forbidden territories in this forum

Following his video that 2022 would not be Star Citizen's year, Morphologis (SC's biggest youtuber) has been enjoying his new SC Refugee status, especially while playing in the detailed sandbox of Space Engineers

Most of the ships sitting static on the ground.

This is more impressive

And there was once a 100 ship meetup as i recall.
Not really. None of these ships have to handle players walking through the interiors. It might be graphically more impressive "ooh shiny VFX" but its the equivalent of a 60 player battlefield server walking forward and then disappearing!

You do not understand. When other games do something, it is a mixture of hidden loading screens, tricks and outright cheating - just software things. When Star Citizen does something, it creates an authentic, physical, alternative universe, places a camera in this universe that you can control, and then streams the video from the camera to your desktop.
Post of the decade (on this thread) - I think you summed up in two lines my take away from the last two years

You realize having to network and sync an interior with players walking around is harder than having your player be the ship?
