I honestly don't see why they can't say 'We are in talks with Sony and MIcrosoft due to legal limitations' Please explain to my smooth brain why this would by financially risky for frontier.

Because speaking of such talk IS limited under laws and so on. Also it CAN compromise the talks effort, because Sony and Microsoft don't want that kind of talk to be known, because it's bad PR.

Really? You think they should just tell the world they are in talks with Sony about accounts and transfers, something that could possibly affect their share value? If it's anything legal, no-one is going to say anything until a decision is made. This isn't monopoly money you know!

Not communicating also influences their share value, if you argue that way.
Anyway, it seems a bit strange, that they don't have an answer to this obvious topic.

There was also an official statement about putting transfer on hold while they try to get full transfer. Because people transferring now with only wealth transfer would be mad if full transfer is added a few days-week later.

Boring answer: FDev hasn't said if it's possible or impossible because they don't know if it's possible or impossible. They said they're looking into making it happen, but that doesn't mean that know whether or not they will succeed.

If they provide news right now like OP wants, it'll be the exact same as what they said before: unknown, still looking into it.

And the answer will be the same the next time it's asked, and the next time, and the next time, until they learn whether or not full account transfers are possible.

You'll find that what's 'relevant' is whatever the clique says is relevant on a case by case basis. And telling people what should or shouldn't be discussed works fine, up until it doesn't.

Speculation, and questioning, are often frowned upon. Which is why I am stating that 'duplicating an existing thread' was literally against the rules for another thread, but it isn't for this thread, and allowing others to form their own opinions about that. But not to express those opinions, obviously, because that would be against the rules. Except when it isn't.

My opinion about the thread itself, which I don't think breaks any rules, is that it's early to be expecting answers, and there is the 'Consoles ---> PC' thread, assuming the OP doesn't object to more general discussion. He has so far.

Because talks like that makes shares fluctuate for various reasons. Share fluctuating is bad, especially when a few are in the known and can buy or sell large quantities for profit later on. It's really bad.
The same way you can't talk about aquisition at all, and need to wait until it's done.

I have watched it, the statement was about as vague as its possible for a statement to be. This is why I have posted this thread because I wanted to stimulate discussion about the merits of providing a more clear statement in a location that people could read it and refer to it when someone else asks a question about it and os that people would have some idea about what was going on and when things might be resolved.

It's human nature.
Even if they will agree to transfer only credits -like it was possible before, perfectly knowing that in the future a better transfer option will appear, some will still come and say they change their mind and will demand a full transfer then will throw a tantrum and make a mess out of a negative answer.

And dont tell me you cannot, i know you make backups and even if you dont you can check Inara and see what i used to have"

Sound familiar?

Seems to be a "you" problem then, because it was clear. They are working on full transfer but can't promise anything. Meanwhile reguler transfer are on hold to prevent frustration if full transfer comes. Not the exact words but that was what it meant.

Again, just litterally making stuff up. How would saying they are in talks with Sony make the share prices go down? Presumably thats the fluctuation that might cause concern. I can't imagine Fdev getting upset about the price fluctuating up.

Well, that's never going to be a good idea if a full account transfer is later found to be possible and that messing about with fleet carriers is a waste of time and I think the OP knows that. We also don't know if it has to be a clean account or any other requirements, so that could even make things worse. Mainly though, I completely understand why someone would not want to spend their gaming time doing something FDev will eventually be able to do for them instead of playing the game.

Regardless, I would be doing nothing until FDev confirm what the process is, just in case.

talk are private and behind the scene, as it happen ALL THE F* TIME SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENS (IE mods on console by bethesda, multiple cross-saves/croosplay attempt for many games....)
or
Fdev are evil and like to keep you in the dark for their own twisted pleasure. While locking ALL transfer to make you suffer.

According to you, the first is a lie, and the second a plausibility. Now, I would agree it's a possibility if the guy responsible for the "10 item at a time for PP" was involved, but I don't think he/she is.

I don't know if the 'official stream' is on these forums, or somewhere else. Other than Community Goals, occasionally, I post exclusively in the Dangerous Discussions and Odyssey Discussions (and don't swear that I catch every announcement). That's why threads about such things, without conditions on participation, is so greatly needed.

Obviously, it helps if they remain cordial discussions, and the OP listens to advice and acknowledges it politely. Even if they do that, though, they will often be told otherwise, so damned if you do...
