🐾 Planet Zoo - Update 1.9 coming 12 April 🐾

Yeah but the part I quoted is not about the small burrows, it's in the paragraph about the webcam billboards 😅

I am really excited for the roaming educators feature...even if implemented more blandly than I would prefer, it will still be very cool.
It sounds like now they will just be roaming and find an area to chat with guests, but I'm hoping eventually we can create customizable "booths" that are designated places for Animal Talks.

This update does include some nice features but it isn't the mind-blowing reveal I was imagining. That's okay, though.

The small burrows don't really excite me too much - honestly the large one still needs expanding a great deal (wolves, warthogs, giant anteaters). Since we know Frontier can 'shrink' enrichment items, however, I'd still really like to see a smaller forage box and mud wallow - the latter especially.

And educators; hopefully this will convince me to use them more.

Looking forward to the DLC announcement.

Edit: Also, the obligatory mention of the Malayan tapir model. Finish it, please!

What a pleasant surprise! Sometimes I wonder if Frontier doesn't slightly shift around their reveal schedule just to mess with all of our expectations.

Hot springs are an incredibly welcome addition. I was just making a macaque habitat last night and wishing we had them. Small burrows are great too, and I can't wait to see how they're implemented. Hopefully burrow support continues for the next few species that really should have it (foxes, warthogs, I wanna say there were at least one or two more).

Gotta say I don't really get the apparent hype regarding roaming educators. Maybe it's because I've never really used educators after the initial excitement wore off, and maybe this is intended to specifically counteract that. I guess I'll have a better feel for it once I can use them for myself. My big hope here is that this is just the next step towards giving us ambassador animals (such as our existing binturongs, snakes, and lizards) that educators can carry around and demonstrate.

The notion of another animal pack is very exciting (although expected), and if it's truly east/central Asia (the rice terraces mention seems weirdly arbitrary and specific)... I don't want to get my hopes too high but I think my avatar says it all. Even in the "worst" case with Asia, I think we're pretty much guaranteed to get a leopard, which has been the #1 most glaring roster omission in my eyes for some time now (inarguably at least since we got the African rhino, meerkat, and sea lions knocked out). Of course I'm more than willing to entertain this not being an Asian pack too... capybaras are also well known for their love of hot springs, after all. Regardless, I can't think of any potential outcome that wouldn't be exciting at this point. Can't wait for Monday's stream.

Id love educational booths with the correct props added like they have in my local zoos, as morbid it may sound but they have skins, bones and other cool parts from former zoo animals on display, either a small booth or a small dedicated museum. its something i always found very interesting and educational, id love to see it in my zoos ingame.
I just checked, and you are right. It seems like it can already be added to every type of billboard. Then I don't get it
maybe the regular webcams? i dont think those can be hooked to bilboards, wich id personally very much love to see.

agreed, fix my Malayan babies, they are one of my favorite animals, i hate seeing them look like a poor repaint of a diffrent tapir when they are so uniquely build compared to the other kinds.

So happy we finally have some news.

I love the little video you guys made and I'm looking forward to the update. ❤️

Just wondering, when is the stream on Monday? I'd love to catch you all there and join in on the fun.

Yeah, I'm with you there. The educators are a neat addition in theory but in practice they're a bit of a hassle.

First Person Mode just after Evolution 2 is in Planet Zoo too, that is great, and the bathing behaviours is something I have wanted to see for a while too, the Japanese Macaques just got a lot easier to build for, same with the Meerkats and Prairie Dogs, they can have burrows for themselves, this is brilliant, now I don't have to build a massive shelter for the number of animals in my habitat. Also will we be able to change the size of the exhibits?

I DID remove the toucan! Now my toucan will turn into a SLOTH for my animal scenery pack (featuring 9 animals and scenery)!
Rainforest Animal Scenery Pack
  1. Capybara
  2. Maned Wolf
  3. Red River Hog
  4. Brown-throated sloth
  5. Fossa
  6. Siamang
  7. Golden Lion Tamarin
  8. Common Marmoset
  9. Tokay Gecko (Exhibit Animal)
I would definitely buy this pack. It's a great pack set. though would still probably be 8 not 9 animals. As long as the capybara and Red River hog stayed in I think i'd be thrilled. You did a lot of good work on this one George.
