Pteranodons deserve more love from Frontier - more decorations improve this game absurdly - T-Rex could get more animations and roars.

Hello. Sometimes I give my opinions here, always to try to improve the game.

I want to start by saying that the game is getting better and better. The new decorations are fantastic!! Congratulations Frontier!

On what I think should be improved:
  • The 2001 pteranodons should gain size. They've been tiny for a while. I want to use them, but they are small.
  • I would also like to see the Pteranodon skin from 1997. It would be awesome.
  • I believe that the cage of pterosaurs deserved a version with a higher roof. They are very low. (and how the hell is a Quetzalcoatlus going to fly in these places?)
  • Tyrannosaurus, as Jurassic Park's main dino, deserves more animations and more roars. I would like to see this dinosaur doing more things, many similar to the movies (mostly more types of roars).
  • MORE DECORATIONS. The decorations have improved this game A LOT. Hope Frontier keep creating this!!
  • This game deserves a bigger Sorna Island. Sorry, but that narrow map isn't cool.

Anyway. I think one of the secrets for this game to get better and better is: MORE AND MORE DECORATIONS. Thanks for reading! I hope Frontier takes this into account. Hugs!

Yes, to all of your pionts !
  • 2001 Pteranodons are really waaaaaayyyy to small !
  • 1997 Variant of Pteranodon would be my favourit for JP I area and looked scientific more accurate than the 2001 and 2015 in my Optinion.
  • For Quetzalcoatlus it would indeed be very nice to have Aviary with higher roof ! .... Some of the very high rocks ( with waterfall and plants) from RTJP Dlc of JWE I would be super cool as Deco for the Aviaries and our normal enlclosures (even the laggons), too !
  • Some new animations for other 5 Star Dinos beside the T-Rex would be cool, too.....Mosasaurs and Kronosaurs could jump out of the water like some whales do it, to ged rid of ectoparasites from their skin.
  • As I play on PS4 Pro i would wish all the great new Decorations could be used in every Area !!! .... why should an container or cage be areaspecific ????
  • at least Some of the very nice old JWE I maps ( like that with the big lake and waterfall !!!) would be very welcome in an update !

More Decoration ( Waterfalls etc.) , and espacially some placeable PLants ( Kelp forrest etc.) for the lagoons and Some new different Attractions for ALL biomes ( Jurassic River ride for shallow water, Micro Submarine Tour for Lagoons, VIP Heli-shuttletour, Underwatertunnels/domes, Gondola-Cablecar etc. ) would be cool, too.

The Aviary is actually pretty good right now, I certainly would like some more improvements, but the poor Lagoons are so far behind they need a dramatic overhaul.

Sorry, but the aviary needs a higher height. I always said that.More aviary decorations and more perches are needed as well.
He's not good yet.

The height of the Aviary and some decorative perch points and other customization are minor things that are likely going to come out tacked onto future updates. The Lagoon has zero customization, no breakout potential, no attraction or guest interaction whatsoever, it is just a fancier version of the aquarium amenity. Modders can fix the Aviary, the Lagoon is a dead pool without urgent dev intervention.

No breakout opportunity? Where do you want the marine reptiles to break out to? lol

You want the Mosasaurus to just break out and flop around on the ground like some kind of huge reptilian seal? lol

I Play on PS4 Pro, and there will never be any modds for the hight of the aviary ! For this reason i think, if hopefully Quetzalcoatlus comes with the domion update or dlc we need at least the option for higher roofs of the aviary! But for sure you are right too, that the Lagoons need all the new aspects that you mentioned , It really has zero customization with placeable plants/rocks/ decorationobjects, no breakout potential,no Marine reptiles can hurt them selfs by triyng to escape to small lagoons, no attractions like Microsubmarine or Jurassic riverride can drive in the lagoons and there is today still no guest interaction whatsoever!

1.)maybe....that would hurt the budged of players that don´t care about the health of the creatures ...and given how expensive the Mosa is it could ruin a park !
2.) ....but better would be for example if mosa could break the glass of the Lagoon viewing gallery... than there could be an animation where we could see water swapp in and swam out some guest in the lagoon ! After that Mosa or other Marine Reptiles could attack them .
3.) An other option.....Pterosaurs could lift guests in the Air and let them drop in the lagoon....than Mosa would snap them like in the movie or the shark from the feeder. the animation of the mosa is allready ingame.
4.) if the lagoonns get some day an option to have a rocky or beach shore on some regions , even dinosaurs which are next to it to drink etc. could be attacked .

I think you missed the context there, that was merely an example of what marine reptiles cannot do, but both dinosaurs and pterosaurs can. I did try to conceive of a solution at one time, but it was so forced and required such exacting circumstances it was a waste of time. My latest thoughts if you would like to know my proposals for Lagoons:

Quetzal is pretty much the only situation in which I could see vertical height adjusted, but even then from a ground level perspective the Aviary is large enough its the isometric camera angle that would make it look a bit wonky. Frontier has added a lot of things for pterosaurs to perch on recently, I have no doubt they will slowly continue this trend. Everyone wants rock pillars for them to perch on and why not they have proper perches and normal rocks they can rest on and even some of the new decorations like the fountains and some of the new signs.

You can see my thread linked above to PCMR4Life for my thoughts on the Lagoon. I do got to feel for you console players though you got it rough especially as a PS4 player; Dominion releases in a few months, lets cross our fingers and hope they made some changes to the Aviary to coincide with it as well.

Note that both the roof of the JPIII and JWE RTJP aviaries are much higher than the roof of the regular JWE2 aviaries. I feel the ceiling is too low. I want to look at the Pterosaurs in a more general view but I can't because the ceiling is too low.
You're saying it's normal, but I don't think so. I really think we need more space up. Any aviary that has ever appeared in this franchise was bigger than these from this second game.

I agree with you about the lack of decorations in the ponds, but see that the aviaries aren't working perfectly yet either (if they were, I wouldn't be complaining about them). We need an official update to fix this, or upgrade. Mods wouldn't do it right.

The JP3 Aviary in the film is largely covered in mist, so its unclear exactly how much of a look there is in there. The RTJP Aviary meanwhile is non-customizable, its just a fancy set piece. Could they be raised, sure, is it as big a deal not really. The Aviary has received constant attention and improvements while the Lagoon stagnates like a cesspool, I think its time the Lagoon got some attention first.

I think you are just being dramatic when you claim the Aviary isn't working correctly, it works just fine, you just aren't content with a minor aesthetic change that is vastly different than the functionally dead and uninteractive Lagoon which is more on par with the useless Aviary of RTJP. Mods could easily do something like this right, its just a matter of priority though, I just say relax and it will eventually change, but right now, we need to address the elephant in the room and that is the Lagoon which has had next to nothing since launch while each update makes the Aviary better progressively.

Please don't be boring.

This is not just an aesthetic change. Currently, we have to zoom in very closely to get a better view of the entire aviary. To get an overview (zoom out), we left the dome very quickly. The overall view of the place is BAD. The proper size (height) would be the JWE1 Aviary, but the current ones are too low.

And let the eventual update of the aviary be in Frontier's hands. Don't be a fool thinking mods would solve everything. There are console gamers around here too. I agreed with the Lagoon problem, but don't be stupid thinking that what others see is not a problem, it's only what you see.

The Lagoon they will adjust and improve. The Aviary feature I'm not sure. So let me ask for this improvement in peace.

1 - Only the Quetzal IN YOUR OPINION. That's not to say that I - and others - don't think all summits deserve to be taller. I don't just pose the problem regarding the size of the creature, but the gameplay. In the current format, there is no vertical use of any space. The noise of leaving the dome and entering the dome is constant. It even seems poorly thought out.
2 - The current aviary, to be well visualized, must be seen from the side, almost horizontally. If you put the view a little more vertically, you're already out of your range. It's a BAD view, without much freedom to watch freely. You don't see the problem, but I do. On Reddit other people are already asking for an update on this too.
3 - The Aviary is getting more decorations, yes. And we hope get even more. The environment deserves it.
4 - The lakes are dead and bland. I'm sure they will improve it. Maybe even a Marine DLC will come out someday. But there are things there that are impossible to do, after all, it is a saltwater marine environment. It would obviously be a cleaner place.

I'm not saying that the aviary problem is bigger than the lagoon problem, but that needs to be improved as well. As for you, you want to disregard an argument of mine and only consider a flaw in the game that you perceive. How about rooting for Frontier to work on both?

It is 100% an aesthetic change, honestly, in what reality is this anything but done for said reasons. Hop into First-Person View and you'll see there is still verticality within the Aviaries enough for a Quetzal to walk around in. You can run tour vehicles through the Aviary which lets you see things up close and personal to get a better view of the interior of the Aviary. Everything you described and I corroborated confirm its for aesthetic purposes. Functionally the Aviary is working as intended, it could use some tweaks for quality purposes, sure, but let's not exaggerate that this is some wild problem needed immediate rectification.

Mods would easily be able to solve a mundane issue as small as Aviary height, they've already done things more aggressive than something of this nature. Unfortunately for console players we already see the same game across multiple platforms are not equal. RTS & park simulators as examples will by their very nature handle better with a mouse and keyboard, we are already seeing hardware limitations on top of this with last gen consoles performance suffering badly, there comes a point where we start to sacrifice content for the sake of consoles. We also don't know how much support JWE2 will receive, and I would rather Frontier bring Lagoons up to par before we refine Aviaries too much which could get away with things even if support ended tomorrow.

1 - As it is your opinion that this is some critical game breaking issue that Frontier needs to drop everything else to fix. Name what sort of major benefit would be created by increasing the height of the Aviary immediately? You then describe noise which could be ambient noise or a minor technical or creative choice, not clear what noise you are referring to; however, that still isn't conveying much of the benefits of prioritization of more verticality. Now if you proposed some gameplay interaction only possible with a taller Aviary we can go somewhere, but it must be substantiated.

2 - I will concede the views do need refining and aren't ideal, they are a little stiff and the angles not ideal

3 - Rock pillars would be my next bet for more naturalist environments now that we have the verticality of the perches and standard perchable rocks. Frontier can probably just reuse code, so I think this is a relatively simple thing to add allowing for more varied customization options.

4 - This is kind of what I was getting at the whole time, the Aviaries aren't ideal but they are incredibly close to where they need to be, the Lagoon is a mile from where it needs to be. Given the state lagoons are currently in and the built-in limitations marine reptiles face compared to pterosaurs, I'd consider the Lagoon an immediate higher priority because the Aviary is already going to get the aforementioned support. The Lagoon's future is uncertain and if it has to wait too much longer even when it gets something done to it, it could be in a very unfinished state that needs multiple Updates to rectify with no promises Frontier will support the game long enough to get Lagoons to where they need to be.

I direct you back to my thread on the subject of aquatic flora, I proposed a desalination plant that would provide a pseudo-logical excuse to mix and match fresh and salt water lifeforms for the sake of customization and reptile interactivity.

You have been arguing with me about simple aesthetic changes (views fall into this category) for a while now then completely disregard when I first mentioned the state of Lagoons. I could just as easily argue the opposite that those focusing so much on the Aviary are completely disregarding the state of the Lagoon because they want the Aviary to be in a perfect state before even acknowledging the need of the latter. I am not interested in engaging in such a petty argument, and if you think the Lagoon's state is a perception of my own imagination then you are being flagrantly disingenuous.

You immediately jumped to conclusions and accused me of shooting down Aviary improvements despite my acknowledging the need for them from the very first post while you continued to reiterate the importance of aesthetic changes. I expressed my thoughts on the state of Lagoons in comparison to the current state of Aviaries as marine reptiles have zero guest interaction and no possibility of escape, they are inherently less capable while Lagoons lack any customization options whatsoever. That is the pervading difference, Lagoons are in far greater need of attention. For all their issues, it appears some technical issues (marine reptiles have them too) and aesthetic ones are what face the Aviary leaving them in a relatively good state by only needing more minor improvements.

If you wish to continue arguing, then I consider this discussion as resolved with an agree to disagree.

Tall rock pillars would not function properly at the current height of the aviaries. And even with the current summit low we would soon be out of dome. With a higher summit, animations could be made up there, and even a fog could be placed there. The aviaries have a lot of new potential to be explored yet.

And pterosaurs currently don't even walk on the ground. We need improvements there too.

You who are claiming that these are purely aesthetic (dome) changes. I've already repeated more than three times the low dome gameplay factor and the sound of being outside of it constantly. There is no free view at that current time. For me, the simple fact of being stuck in a ZOOM IN and not being able to freely look in a great view does affect its gameplay. If this is not a mistake for you, congratulations. But don't act like there isn't a problem there.

I agree that they should prioritize lagoons. That's right. But I completely disagree that the current height of the aviaries is right. It's low, gets in the way of the overview and doesn't deliver the full gameplay potential of a visualization and management game.

This post is originally made by me. If you continue to disagree with my argument, I will continue to write about it if I feel the need to. I'm just defending my opinion.

Long last ! I subscribe every word in everything.
In particular on flying reptiles and on the possibility of improving the models of Pteranodon of 2001, too small, but above all the plesure that many amateurs would have: the Pteranodon from (1997) "The Lost word" movie.
It still remains the best male Pteranodon in the entire franchise, with its toothless beak and long crest.
Ps: I agree also on the T. rex, it deserves some more sonority...
