Today I am voting like this:

1 - Had a relaxing flight with beautiful planets to explore.

8 - Still peed off that there hasn't been a VR patch for Odyssey and have genuine concerns that Frontier will completely kill the game off sooner rather than later.

I'm getting one of these delivered during the next couple of months and want as much time playing Elite Dangerous using it as possible.

Today I am voting like this:

1 - Had a relaxing flight with beautiful planets to explore.

Probably a 3 or 4 on Odyssey. I generally enjoy it and play for a couple of hours most weekends, it is taking me way too long to get from the bubble to Colonia as I am dropping down and exploring plants with bio life readings.

Whats stops it getting full marks from me is the VR implementation. I hope Frontier revisit their decision on this (I know, it is less than likely).

EDO-4. I actually enjoy FC interiors quite a lot in VR with the vanity cam.

FDev-8. You can always count on them to do the right thing once they have thoroughly exhausted every other possibility.

Odyssey I've tried and give it 6. Since this is more than 2 I'm still playing Horizons.

1 - I just switched back from the Krait to the Python as my main ship and it was totally worth it. Python > Krait. It just took me too many years to realise it.

Really the only reason for this score is optimization. I just got a 3080ti and overall VR performance is abysmal still but I think there is something going on with the coding. I get choppiness no mater what my graphics settings are at. It doesnt matter whether my HMD setting is at .5 or 2.0. I am for whatever also locked at 40fps when I am looking at stations and 80 FPS when in SC. On oculus and ASW is turned off.

Hi All

is there an 11 for tritium mining out in deep space?

My Grandson (6 years old) was acting co-pilot with me yesterday, he likes driving around in the SRV and collecting materials, flying the ships, shooting at pirates and trading etc. We did a spot of tritium mining (From a Carrier in deep space) his reaction after about 30 minutes was, " I'm bored with this now grandpa, can we please go back to the carrier and do something else?"...

As to the original posters question, I'm feeling my personal score for the game is around the 7 mark for Odyssey (at the moment), 3 for Horizons. If Frontier released the Panther Clipper plus a few more other new ships...... then for Horizons, or perhaps even Odyssey, I would probably give a score of 1!

I'm a 1 for Odyssey.
After several years away, I've restarted playing, and I'm enjoying the new UI and improvements Odyssey has brought. However, I do avoid planets and I play the game much like I did when it came out in Beta: i.e. doing missions, trading and attempting to shoot outlaws at Nav Beacons and Resource sites.
My opinion might not count for much though, as the biggest ship I've owned in the game is the Type 7 I'm flying at the moment

An unpopular opinion I’m sure!

Although, tbf, coming back to it after some time away (not as long as you) I found it’s easier to re-find my feet than I did with the old UI. - not to say there aren’t still aspects that are unintuitive or just plain take longer than the Horizons menus.

And big ships are overrated

I find it quite strange that having played EDO since alpha, and seen the UIs mature somewhat (there are still some very annoying inconsistencies) that going back to play Horizons on my laptop (I was moving my FC - and had to fly my active ship back to it) I was cussing about being unable to just set my destination by holding a button down, so had to remember how it used to be done!

I'm not claiming it is perfect, but going back was trying as memory was failing me!

I already posted that I acually like the interiors just because they make my carrier feel more complete. But ... that's simply is it. You threw another little toy into the sandbox. It didn't sink too deep - one inch at most, I guess.

... ? ... _ ... tadam, tadam, tadam ... <whistle> ... </whistle> ... (Rember XML? How would you do that in JSON??? - Interesting question!!!) ... ??? ... (...or YAML?) ...

And now, what? We will "move forward with the story of the game". Aha, right yeah! That's really gerat. I'm really looking forward to moving forward. Simply because moving backwards sound somwhat ridiculous.
