Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

There is really not much scammy in actually releasing and opening up your own product to scrutiny and reviews, as harsh as they can be, so that the market can transparently judge its quality and decide if they want to buy or not.

On the other hand CIG pre selling a product for almost 10+ years suggesting a delivery date in 2014 then 2015, then 2016, then 2017, then a beta in 2020, then “ready when it is ready”, all the while having pre sold over 450+ millions with zero products released, is not only the very definition of scammy but also potential fraud.
Agree. reviews and revenue always thump in the end no matter what the coating is. :giggle:

Apparently Firesprite are now working on a new horror game using Unreal.

Theaters Of War is just another vaporware game in development hell, alongside SATAball and Squadron 42 😕

And that just directs you back to the SC website where there is no mention of ToW whatsover!

Minor issue noted...
As expected (that was exactly what I posted not long ago) - all the usual checkboxes are ticked:
  • Janky movements, check (also the way those ships move is still cringey at best but that's unrelated)
  • Physics engine failure, check
  • Something will explode, break or crash because of that failure - check
  • Cultists screaming "ITS TIER 0 !!1!!!111!" - check ? (didnt bother to verify on Spectrum)

Past the curiosity stage people will quickly abandon that and get back to reclaiming ships in order to get around the repair/refuel/restock bugs.

Yeah as long as there's no real penalty for that kind of thing it's probably gonna be the path of least resistance for a lot of people.
Penalties had increased a lot since the inventory patch. Each time you kill yourself/a ship, you lost all you have with you (armor, weapons, inventory, loot). With the new inventory system, killing yourself or reclaiming ship cost more money and also a huge amount of playtime. You also respawn at your starting city if you don't have a medical bed in your ship.
And with the ships now able to transport components, ship weapons and other costly thinks in their inventory, reclaiming will be a no go in a lot of situation.
