NPC Interdictions, Futile, Irritating and Should be Removed.

I am making up the cost of buying & equipping a T9. I have found a nice trade route that will in 13 runs generate profit to the tune of the 100 million that the ship cost. All fine & dandy, except that on the return leg some NPC keeps intercepting me. He never actually pulls me out of super-cruise. I out fly him every time (remember I am flying a T9) , but just about every trip he tries. This has now got beyond tedious. Either the game could be adapted to make NPC pirates a real danger or just remove them

I see it as a way of giving you a choice. Some people like fighting pirates. Some people hate it. By making the NPCs not too good at interdictions the pirate haters can shake them off fairly easily while the prate lovers can submit to the interdiction to break the routine for some combat fun and earn extra credits. I guess you can tell which type I am. :)

omg no please. another remove request.
oh oh please make the already very safe elite even safer..

no, leave we need more of this, the game has become too safe

and before you say it, i know PVP isnt safe, i mean everywhere other than PVP
learn to submit to interdiction, which cools you down quicker and then boost and jump out

They're not a danger because you've not advanced your combat rank. You can be Elite V in trade yet novice in combat and you'll keep being pulled by novice pilots. Advance your combat rank to make your NPC interactions more challenging.

Funny I almost never get interdicted flying in the bubble, even in my T9, are you doing just a trade route or taking missions, because that's one of the features of missions, they send out people to try and kill you!

If it’s the same NPC why don’t you just submit and kill him?
Kill him with what? I am a trader/trucker (& part-time smuggler) so I don't carry weapons because they take up space & add mass. The wretched pirate isn't actually a danger to me; I can out fly him in a T9, for goodness sake. He is just a nuisance and is making the game boring. Now, if he was good at his job and was a real pirate I wouldn't be complaining.

Again the question, did you take missions, missions will send NPC's after you, thiese NPC will continue pursuing you from system to system until they are either destroyed or the mission is turned in. This is how the game works, if it's the same NPC then it's a mission NPC and it will keep trying.

No, this is where I get a significant amount of my materials from.

My recommendation is get a Cutter so you have something that'll take them out without it being too tedious. I can appreciate combat in a T-9 not being something anyone would look forward to. There's a reason it's so cheap relative to how much it can carry.

Being realistic, better NPCs in these situations have been requested for a while. If it hasn't happened by now it's not going to, unfortunately.

Weapons add mass sure, but they don’t take space away from your cargo. And if you’re that concerned about the additional mass, engineer them as lightweight.

It’s clearly a big enough nuisance for you to be constantly interdicted, so I really don’t understand why you don’t just take a slight hit in jump range and speed to kill the little ?!

Because then I would become a combat pilot again and that is a route I don't want to go down. I have been playing my current character for about three years now on iron man mode & it is a role play thing. I fly as a trader/trucker with a bit of smuggling thrown in, I don't do violence.

I don't mind being interdicted, what I find tedious is being interdicted by incompetent AI that I can out-fly in a T9. It adds nothing to the game & when I am flying a regular trade run and it happens every 25 minutes or so it becomes very boring.

Again, did you take a mission, because they will keep coming after you if you do. Also do you fly along the trade routes rather then deep space because you will get attacked more often if you do. You know you will be interdicted multiple times if you take a mission, it tells you. I hardly ever got interdicted in my T9 even when carrying a full cargo, so you must be doing something to attract them.

The game is too easy... then it's why players complain about PvP.

I'd rather see a big gameplay improvement to have NPC pirates incapacitating/robbing/blowing up T9s like a pirate player would do depending on haulers' reaction.

Do you really think the OP would be happy if every time he was interdicted he was blown up? He's already stated he doesn't carry weapons, if the NPC's were more dangerous instead of being continually being interdicted he would be continually blown up.

Pirates ask for the cargo... drop what they want and fly safe. If tries to run, they might incapacitate the ship (killing drives/FSD) and/or use hatchbreakers.

Blowing up is usually the consequence of openin fire against a pirate ship.

there are already few people playing, if the NPCs are also raised, the fun of the game is lost, rather they could do it in solo mode

Or how about evening out the areas and putting less emphasis on NPC interdiction?

For example drop zones are far too small, in the classic games (and early on for ED) there were larger gaps around stations that could have pirates. If this was so, interdictions could become rarer but then allow for pirates to appear elsewhere to maintain that level of risk.
