Community Event / Creation The Buckyball Racing Club presents: The Wiccan BeWare Race (Magic 8-Ball Championship, Race 3)

It was a solemn gathering at a Dublin Citadel, Hangar 31C. Dominating the hangar was a massive wedge-shaped object draped in sackcloth. Chief Officer of Operations of Stevenson Whirlwind Adventures, as well as lead pit crew boss Gyeong Castro, addressed the gathered team.

“We all know why we’re here. Our illustrious leader, Commander Stevenson, has brought shame upon us all by once again failing to read the instructions fully.” The woman pointed dramatically towards an auburn haired heavy-worlder sitting a cardboard marked "penalty," with a worn placard engraved with “RTFM” around her neck.

“This stain of dishonor must be purged from our organization. I decided to blend ancient Buckyball tradition with all of your suggestions, and have decided upon this course of action. First, she must complete one run, reciting 'I must read all the directions'..."

"I thought we decided on instructions..."

"Weren't these rules?"

"WHATEVER! The point is, she must do this at each stop. And until she completes the course at least once, she must fly... THE SHIP OF SHAME!"

A robotic arm removed the sackcloth tarp from the ship.

It was a Cobra Mark III, one of the older variants. It had been painted what had once been called "School Bus Yellow." Safefy reflectors had been glued along its edges. Styrofoam pads had been glued to the front, upon which had been painted a goofy looking grin. Large googly eyes had been attached the doors of the larger weapons bays. The words "SHAME!" had been written boldly on its side, and in the place of her customary decals, was a lamb wearing a bicycle helmet. Finally, rocket fins had been applied liberally along the back of the ship.

You can watch the Shame run in about 30 minutes below. Amusingly, I almost beat my initial time, despite focusing on actually finishing the run and fumbling with my keyboard in VR.

That's my runs over.
Massive thanks to @Fish172 for running the race! Fantastic course, many rebuys, it's been a hoot.

Here's to lots of PBs in the last few days, fly fast everyone o7

I do still need more so if anyone blows up and can save the video clips I'd love to have them.
I shall be undertaking some last ditch attempts to improve my times this weekend, so I can absolutely guarantee footage of explosions, missed landings, toaster rack tangles, fines for reckless flying from irate air traffic controllers and a general disregard for my own personal safety. :)

Well last nights updates have moved things around a bit.

First a congratulations to Commander Sgurr for rocking in with a sub 16 in the regulation class. Well done sir.

In 2nd place we have our Shaye Blackwood with a time only just a bit away from Sgurr. Gentlemen there is only a bonus in it! We also have Commander Bruski entering the battle and taking 4th place. There is barely half a minute between the top 4 places now. That is going to get interesting!

Further down we have Aken B. take an excellent 6th place with a time only just over 17 minutes. Epaphus has moved into 11th place staying well under 20 minutes and a good solid entry from Rocky Star and managing a bonus too.

In unlimited There has been a change at the top with our Commander Sgurr taking 2nd place and again running close to 1st place. Brilliant stuff. He is certainly upsetting the cart today.

Aken B. has put in a great time for 5th place well under 16 minutes. Lower down the table New Model 15 has joined in with a worthy 22 run. Finally in current last place but with a mention is Epaphus in a Corvette!

When this race is done I will publish the full list of ship entries as it is interesting stuff.

Fly Hard Commanders!
