Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

That is because no sane person cares about that. I have no idea who at FD is married to whom, nor do I want to know, nor am I entitled to know. It's only weird creepers who are interested in that.
Right, because no one cares when family members without any qualification get fat job titles with big dividends all fuelled by other people's money. Give me a break - maybe crusade for something decent instead.

Nobody has bought a Star Citizen game yet. They are all "backers" funding a game which has yet to release. If they are backers then they have the right to know how their money is being spent

I've got no problem with family businesses. If crowdfunding had been around at the time, and Sierra had a campaign, I may well have backed it. I do have a problem with deceit

If yer talking about creeping folks out, that whole "Hello perfect stranger that I never met" routine they did in that campaign video creeped the hell out of me. If they are willing to lie about their relationship to make their business appear more legitimate... what else are they lying about?

That's a rather strong statement. If I remember correctly people cared because they were concerned about nepotism which is a perfectly reasonable concern for ensuring funds are not misused in a community funded project.

It's like the people in the UK who looked into Captain Tom's daughter and what she was doing with the charity set up in his name. They're not creeping, they're ensuring nothing untowards is occurring with donations (it was).
It's a pity that self same busybody mentality didn't work quite as well with Help for Heroes then, isn't it?

That entire Sandi interview makes my blood boil. Damn lies after damn lies after damn lies.

Such a rewrite of history, a whitewashing of what really happened, and again erasing Turbulent and all their early marketing concepts and work that made Star Citizen what it is today.

Absolutely infuriating.
I haven't watched this thing, but is that not a perfect moment for Sandi to turn to the camera and say "Acting!" ala Master Thespian? "and the Oscar Razzie goes to..."

And another collaboration bites the dust.

CIG probably hold the word record for the most failed collaborations between a game developer and other companies.

Let's see...

AMD
Intel
MadCatz
The webcam (forget the name of the company)
Shroud of the Avatar (to be fair, not their fault)
MyRadar

I'm missing some?

Lol, and Agony's interest in wether Sandi did or did not play in adult films years before SC is also due to his passion for fiscal responsibility? And you really need to know their marital status to deduce whether CIG has managed their funds well?

Come on mate, I know we are only critical of 'them' here, but let's call a spade a spade. Pointing at the 1001 crappy or (borderline) illegal issues with the project is one thing, but the creepy personal crap is quite another. Let's keep that confined to SA.

That interview is crap for dozens of reasons. But it's not because she didn't detail how open she internally communicated her marital status ten years ago. Bringing that up is weird.

It's not at all. Maybe you've got a bit of an obsession with AA there.

A member of the board, and ex Head of Marketing, retconning the delivery plan for their product, yet again, is clearly relevant.

Two C-suite figures hiding their marriage status just speaks to the potential for nepotism, and suggests a certain comfort with dishonest communication. It’s no doubt for those reasons that the Forbes article on CIG touched on comparable issues. (Including a nod to financial options like Family Trusts, with their 'shell game' potential).

I drop in one some SC vids every few months to see whats going on. Seems to be people going 'wow... woahhh... ooooo' at the fact they can walk around their ship and press buttons. They never actually 'do anything', and they try to laugh off the bugs which are painfully obvious. I watched a stream yesterday and him and his pal were joking about a floating tree on the side of a mountain. They were making comments like 'Oh! A floating tree! hey , Star Citizen, we want our money back, haha'. I was scratching my head a bit because it seemed that every tree near / on the mountains was clearly floating at a high enough height lol
