Unless we get a formal statement from @David Braben most Cmdrs are going to try and guess the future direction of Elite and most are looking at the downside. This means less spending on arx, 3 party utilities and eventually less game time. The downward spiral then continues.
David please be open and honest with us. Many like me have followed you on our adventures since 1984, please don't just put us in an escape pod and hit eject with no honest state of play comments.
Tell us what is happening and if the journey will continue. The future is down to you rather than your CM team having to pick and choose their words carefully. Elite was/is your baby, where do you see it heading?

David Braben is CEO of a publicly traded company. His sole responsibility is doing and saying what is in the financial interest of the company and its shareholders. Being open and honest is irrelevant in such a position.

Possibly, although with the Elite budgetary cuts it doesnt make much sense to keep 4-5 CM assigned to Elite, although Paul seems quite busy with Warhammer and Arm even more doing Warhammer streams and voice overs for trailers.

Edit: what i mean is one Elite CM is enough to post Cancel notices on the forums - they dont really need a team for that

Popular misconception that there are that many CMs assigned to Elite. I believe its just Zac and Sally, with the others filling in where needed, but do attend to other games as well.

he stated to his shareholders that the game would last about 7 years from 2015. So i'm not sure how the shareholders would be upset at the very thing they were told to expect is coming about. They could be upset about the awful odyssey launch but not the end of the game.

in the snippet below, the franchise they're talking about is elite dangerous and this was from their annual statement in 2015. No surprises to investors here.

Lol, I am not saying investors would be upset about that but they would appreciate it if FD could do it in a way that maximised potential store revenue. And you do that by hinting at stuff to come, not by saying "lol cya!".

This is such a good point. I hadn't had the statement handy before but whenever I've mentioned that ED wasn't a until it ends type deal, it has a timeline with an end.

But daring to suggest ED actually isn't intended to to go on and on and on a la Eve or FF14.. that makes you a doomer!

one of the thumbnails is "frontier is not going to fix planets" - like they're broken beyond reason... when actually planets in EDO are quite fine, tilling is not a big issue - even at launch it was rather rare, now it's even rarer (much of the tilling issues were already patched- literally)

Mate you are so lost with elite I truly didn’t understand why are you are so hard ignoring the facts and still defend this company. Me as an affected player on consoles can tell you that. And perhaps it’s time to accept it’s too. So will you advise me to leave this forum like you advise in a hinted way OA that he is not affected on console cancellation and shouldn’t report about it ? Come on, enough is enough.

ps: the little tweaks what are you up to, is to discredit him again and moaining about possible clickbait’s, so for your interest again

OA and D2EA was known very well for a long time only elite content in main focus, you could read the games history in their change of direction. Not as an offence but perhaps it would help you when you check it for yourself.

I never really believed in the fairy tale that ARX is a major pillar of their revenue. If that were the case, they would use significantly more talented artists for it and offer high quality skins. Also, the rather generous way of earning ARX through gaming and its completely optional nature don't really fit into this picture. Of course, without concrete figures, no one can say for sure. On the other hand, if ARX were really that important to them, that would tell a very different tale - one of hair-raising incompetence.

KONAMI's sole revenue with eFootball is their version of Arx and they hand it out like candy everytime anything happens. "Sorry for the downtime, have 10,000 Arx!". Doesn't prevent people from spending hundreds on launch day each year.

I’m curious, if you were to report good news on the current state of ED, what would you say? You’ve been pretty critical of people prioritizing the bad news, but I don’t recall seeing good news counterpoints.

Is it a stalling tactic? For what? In my opinion it would be better if they were honest and open about the state of the game - even if the answer might not please us.
