What do you mean with "Galaxy mapping coming to an end"?Well now with FD having canned console support, Galaxy mapping coming to an end and generally people leaving, i am putting my ships in dry dock as well. It's been a fun 7 years and nearly 8000 hours of gameplay but i feel like quitting before i get too sour over "stuff".
My frequent trips to colonia, the core and beagle point are fun to remember. Taking up trading and passenger hauling, occasionally some bounty hunting, all fun. Also the community is great. I just feel like moving on.
So thanks guys for all the help, tipps and tricks over the years. It has truly been a blast.
And maybe we see each other in a different galaxy one day.
Cheers.

If I loved a game to the point of playing 8000 hours Id get a GFN sub and just send it the Xbox. There ya go, EDO on console. All you need is account transfer and you are good to go. If you only play smaller sessions shorter than an hour it's even free, otherwise a tenner a month.Could be they just don't own a PC or plan on buying one, which is fair enough.
It's a shame people are quitting the game they say they love out of frustration, despite the game having not changed for them at all.
People acting like the GMP being suspended (those claiming its over for good need to actually read the statement, they say it could return depending on the path the game takes... a bit like Lewis Hamilton threatening to retire unless the FIA do what he says) is a nail in the coffin seem to be over-egging the doom custard somewhat. If people are so upset at the potential loss of it, there is absolutely nothing stopping them from taking up the banner and handling it themselves. Meanwhile there are sill many, many other great player tools in service for the game.

Thank you for the info !I think the OP meant the Galaxy mapping project is coming to an end (LINK), actually its entering maintenance mode. But as always, some people blow things out of proportion and think its the end of actual exploration in Elite lol (not the OP, but others who commented about it without comprehension).![]()

Ironically, once the codebases merge? Console's gonna be all the rage for folks who didn't want Horizons to ever be changed or updated. Old planet tech, old UI, hooning, it'll all be there like a living time capsule for the folks who harumph about these darn kids with their first person shooters and their hip hop music.Don’t forget HORIZONS is still available, the game you played for 8,000 hours and loved.
Hopefully, you will occasionally return to both the game and the forums. You clearly invested a lot of time into the game, and care about the product.Well now with FD having canned console support, Galaxy mapping coming to an end and generally people leaving, i am putting my ships in dry dock as well. Closure I would guess my good man. Although I have never in my long time of gaming, have issued a goodbye thread myself, to each their own, and everyone has their reason(s). I hope this brings you some understanding, on Life, the Universe, and Everything.People will always find a reason to stay or leave in order to justify themselves... it's just a bit strange the urge to make a whole thread over it... some will ignore, others would even might ask for your stuphz to be hazzed but at the end this seems what "social media" was made out to become...
There's a hip-hop score? Might be worth suffering through an order of magnitude less FPS to at least check out.Ironically, once the codebases merge?
