I have never been able to plot a route in the game with jet cone boost. Every time it gives me an error about the jump exceeding the maximum fuel my FSD can use per jump. I don't even have cargo!

Do you get the message "Frameshift Drive Supercharged" when you fly through the jet cone?
Route plotter doesn't work with any Frame Shift Boost. You have to pick a direct jump.
Yeah this might be it. Funny thing that the plotter doesn't take max fuel into account.
Depends what the OP is talking about - I use the in-game plotter with Neutron Stars and it's happy with plotting through them. It won't work with Jumponium (and never has), but that has nothing to do with 'Jet Cones', so
