Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

According to whom? The same source that brought us SQ42 eta in 2014, then 2015 then “Answer The Call 2016” then “Answer The Call 2017” then beta Q2 2020 then Q3 2020, then “ready when it is ready”?

But CIG didn’t lie or misrepresent progress there at all, why would they misrepresent their own funding, right?

I mean they are still in operation, as crappy and incomplete as the current PU product is, that much we can ascertain. But from there to blindly believe their own tracker, not even independently audited, there is a bit of a stretch I reckon.
Wouldn't you believe the stuff I pull from my rear is genuine if I showed it to you?

That's where the disappearing credits go.

Never been done before... apart from Fork Lift simulator and Shenmue

Star Citizen feels like a super compliation game of German sims combined into one vastly more expensive, less well designed and less robust project.

Who doesn't like a proper simulated drama that can unfold with a burning haystack? Gosh and it's Berlin Tegel! The Abrissbirne comes back?! Sorry, "wrecking Ball" just doesn't cut it "Abrissbirne" is the superior word.

Matter of taste. I found Wing Commander corny. Command&Conquer, too. But the RTS part wasn't so bad - we all wanted more after Dune RTS. Freelancer I never played - is one of the periods when MS and processors advanced and I had no money to upgrade.

I loved the first Wing Commander, even though it was clearly a product of its time. Loved Freelancer too, as well as its vastly underrated and less known Starlancer "prequel", even though that was produced by Erin...Command&Conquer though, that has nothing to do at all with the Roberts clan, it was a Westwood creation. (Westwood 🥲)

Yes but both used cuscene vids for the narration. Super corny. Apart from the fixy soviet lady in the tight lovely leather suit of course.

Since the 16'th i've put in Quantanium to the value of 1.1m aUEC and 135K''s worth of box missions before i realised my wallet was not getting any fatter, a 1.235 Million aUEC loss. About 2/3 the value of a Cutty Black.

Another aspect of the Mule Transport (I refuse to call it a forklift) that makes no sense is the under slung cargo area. This is a wheeled cargo transport, not a helicopter airlift transport. The cargo area looks like it was designed upside down. It should resemble a pickup or flatbed trailer. And then, to add unnecessary complexity to what should be a simple design, they added drawers for storing additional cargo!

But it looks cool, I’ll give it that.

Yup, that's very impressive, and I can see a younger me jumping into it based on that footage alone.

.....PS: And its CR's own history which shows us he isn't capable of delivering on his dreams.
Although, I would of course have to unlearn this lesson from history... and to be blind to the ten years and $500M 'concerns'....

CIG art direction summed up. Like the weird wheels of the Cyclone, the rotating wheels of the Reliant. Nonsensical but looking good.
