But after all pylons were charged, I finally realized this site need ancient keys....not relics 🤦‍♀️

For my war suit, I have a G5 Intimidator all modded up. It also has a G3 Excutioner with no mods. Is this latter a good weapon choice or would something else be better? I know I could try for the scope mod for the assassination type fighting from a distance but I don't have that engineer unlocked and won't anytime soon. Oh, yes I do

What on-foot arsenal is your choice?

EDIT:

So, I'm almost at G5ing the suit so I'm thinking (in addition to the damage resist already installed), shield regen, night vision and extra ammo cap.

For the long-range rifle, I have the stuff for scope, greater range, faster handling and magazine size.

Hmm

For me personally, I have the following, all G5

Manticore Executioner
  • Audio Masking (a must for sniping without getting caught)
  • Scope (makes those long-range snipes easier)
  • Stability (Helps with follow-up shots at long range because it reduces the recoil)
  • Empty slot (I don't feel I need anything else here yet)

Manticore Tormentor
  • Noise Suppressor (for those stealthy missions -- don't want the guy in the next room to hear anything)
  • Audio Masking (ditto, but for outdoors)
  • Stowed Reloading (because I switch from Shotgun to Pistol a lot, saves me the time and bother of reloading)
  • Empty Slot (nothing else seems needed)

Manticore Intimidator
  • Magazine size (this is essential -- 3 shots without reloading can make all the difference)
  • Stowed Reloading (I want the shotgun to always be full when I pull it out)
  • Audio Masking (so I can shoot it outside and not attract guards -- I don't use the shotgun indoors much)
  • Empty Slot (nothing seems needed yet)

I've been quite happy with this setup, it suits me well.

Just made it to Lieutenant. The grind continues.
I've decided to boost my rank up to Rear-Admiral from Lieutenant with a ban on data courier missions unless it is a promotion mission.
I've got 6 systems with 3 or more Federation factions in each lined up. I sold exploration data start of the week in every system to become allied with the controlling Federation faction. The idea is I will progress through 50% of a rank in a system and move to the next. This will mean a change of scenery, but I'm hoping for more variety of missions with 3 to 5 Rep on offer. It will take longer this way, but I'll enjoy it more and I'm not in a rush. Almost through my first 50%. I've also got a credits to earn target while in each system, but I'm going outside the system to earn them.
Race you to rear-admiral :ROFLMAO:
I'm sure you will make it first.

Finished up another system today and decided that was it for now. I'm going to head back toward the bubble, maybe make a stop or two on the way.

Today's best sight, a nice ringed star. I always laugh at the cast shadow that shouldn't be there, but it's still pretty.

And off we go :)

So what is next on the agenda?

It's official: I love upgrades.

I just put a scope on my G3 Executioner... they never knew what hit 'em! :devilish:
Embarrassing confession time.

Ages ago I bought some scoped weapons and was most disappointed when while using the scope I couldn’t see any magnification compared to what was visible outside the scope, then a week or two back I used it again and realised the reason the scope image wasn’t magnified was the whole screen was.

To be honest the magnification was still a little disappointing.

It does look a little odd having the whole screen get magnified but it might be disorientating to just have the scope do it. Dunno...

I need to practice a bit more with the sniping. The last few shots didn't go well.

I noticed that the Galmap was offering to sell me the data to a nearby system, again. Remember I'm out in the black, nowhere near the bubble. So I bought the data, and was then able to view the system as expected. However, all of the bodies were undiscovered, with nobody's name on them.

I decided to go check it out, and when I got there it was indeed undiscovered, but all the planets were showing in the System map, with what looked like complete info (turns out it was missing biological indications).

I then used the FSS on the whole system, and found that one planet did have biological signals on it, although my bought data had missed that detail.

Then I went back to my carrier to see if I could now sell the data. The Cartographics lady was quite happy to buy the data from me, and I received First Discoveries on everything. All those bodies now have my nametag on them.

So, it first sold me the data to an undiscovered system, and then bought the data back from me when I scanned that system. Definitely a glitch, but not really a problem. More of a curiosity.

This is a landable, terraformable HMC world with volcanic activity. It's the most interesting thing I saw today :)

I have been getting more familiar with the Fleet Carrier this week. The 5 million and bit weekly maintenance bill is no big deal, but keeping 200 million in the carrier account and trying to maintain 2 billion personally while adding more services and tritium fuel has meant juggling some wing mining missions for silver or gold between Quain and my second commander account. For some reason I got the impression 500t of tritium was used every jump - so circa 25 million in fuel per jump. I've loaded up just short of 5000t of tritium which cost a small fortune. Today I sat in the carrier bridge for the first time to watch it jump - the previous two jumps I was engaged elsewhere and unable to watch. Only now do I see that tritium consumption is no where near as much as 500t per jump... :ROFLMAO:
On the plus side, I've got more than enough tritium to go wandering about in deep space for as long as I like discovering new systems and exobiology samples. I'll get Universal Cartographics and Vista Genomics services installed before that trip and see if any other commanders want to come along. That's on the agenda for a bit later in the year.
The not rushing it Fed. rank advancement has progressed well alongside this and I've moved the carrier to number two of 6 Federation faction controlled systems that also has Fleet Carrier administration to try the missions there. Repair and Restock services now added to the carrier.
True to my rules of Fed. rank advancement, I've only done one data courier mission which was a promotion mission to Lt Commander.
The Silver Citadel (H9H-TTY) is now in the BEIMECH system and has 38 Modular Terminals for sale if any commander wants to spend credits to save time unlocking MARCO QWENT. You'll need just over 250,000 credits for 25 - no it's not cheap, but it is convenient. EDIT: Modular Terminals all sold now.

I said that to you previously, and put in a link to https://www.spansh.co.uk/fleet-carrier which can calculate fuel costs for your route (assuming you are going somewhere known). Carrier fuel use is by distance and weight of the carrier (and all services and cargo, but not ships that are docked).

It can still be expensive to take long trips :)
