Most times that would be true - but this year is different due to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee! Instead of the Spring Bank Holiday on the last Monday in May (30th), we get two bank (or public if you want to be pedantic about Frontier not being a bank) holidays on the following Thursday and Friday, so I can quite understand the delay to the following week. Makes no difference to me either way, being retired means every day is the same.So the well known in advance bank holidays suddenly mean the release is delayed.
That does not happen until the 7th June.At least the delay isn't due to problems with the update itself.
Bank holiday is on June 2nd, which is a Thursday. The Thursday before that is this Thursday. My guess is that they were hoping to get the update done by this Thursday, but realized that it won't be ready until, say, next Tuesday. Since releasing it on the June 2nd server maintenence isn't feasible thanks to the holiday, it makes sense to push it back until the following week. That does not happen until the 7th June.
Understandable as the UK is going on a 4 day drinking session that weekend.
This year it was also true, the adjusted bank holidays were announced months ago. Most times that would be true - but this year is different due to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee! There just always seems to be some excuse why Frontier can't hit the date that they set in the first place.
I love how it takes fdev 2 months to do a copypasta mission variant that is centered around on foot combat that feels straight from 2005. I guess in 3308 humans lost the ability to slide on the ground, peek and shoot from cover, climb up to surfaces instead of bouncing off them. Adding advanced movement like this would turn it from straight out of 2005 to maybe straight out of 2015. We don't want copypasta, we want engineering rework, more guns and most importantly advanced movement.Greetings Commanders,
In light of the upcoming bank holidays, Update 12's release date is moving to 7 June. This is to ensure the development team are available to monitor the changes post-launch. Thank you for understanding!
In case you missed it, we discussed some of the expected changes in our latest episode of Frameshift Live:
Not great, just a dev talking about how he did a copy paste version of a mission. Shame it took 2 months.Cheers, but any written details anywhere? I really don't have 2 hrs (!) available to watch that video...
