I am very, very surprised no one has posted this yet:
Ok, now, an observation:
FD spend just about a year since Odyssey released trying to shoehorn this DLC into console systems. Everything involving narratives involving bases on atmospheric worlds, possible thargoid on-foot battles, possible ammonia worlds we may have to actually land on, was put on hold until FD got this for consoles as well.
They couldn't do it and finally admitted that. I understand. That's not a good thing, but we all realized that PC players were now beta testing while FD tried to make this go on consoles.
By finally throwing in the towel and moving beyond consoles over this, FD is finally able to get moving again. The only have to concentrate on the PC version. They've stated they'll transfer accounts from consoles to PC. There was a rather huge outcry to do that and they're going to do it to keep as much of the player base as they can.
The story may now continue. I still feel badly for the console users because there was at least 5 years-worth of time where this could have been address without the big surprise of Odyssey not working on consoles becoming a monkey wrench in the gearbox. No one, I suspect, at FD enjoyed this happening to Odyssey on consoles:
But it'll continue on PC now that they don't have to try fitting it into consoles. It won't kill the game, and I doubt it'll cause the servers to shut down in six weeks because of it. They now have the opportunity to continue the game and improve it without the restrictions that fitting it all on consoles demanded.
Starfall was just delayed until middle of 2023.
SC is still chugging along in alpha expected to move to beta on November 35th. Of what year, I'm not sure.
Let's at least see if ED continues at least that long.
