17. Large snakes

I think you may be thinking of the gerenuk; they are the antelopes that can graze on their hind legs!

1. North Island brown kiwi.
2. Tasmanian devil.
3. Great white pelican.
4. Bolivian black-capped squirrel monkey.
5. Capybara.
6. Japanese red-crowned crane.
7. American alligator.
8. Iberian lynx.
9. California sea lion.
10. Asian small-clawed otter.
11. Emu.
12. Little blue penguin.
13. Amur leopard.
14. Addax.
15. Hamadryas baboon.
16. Pere David's deer.
17. Red river hog.
18. Sumatran rhinoceros.
19. Northern white-cheeked gibbon.
20. Serval.
I'll add:
21. Himalayan monal.
22. Mexican spider monkey.
23. Mute swan.
24. Persian onager.
25. Sumatran tiger.

The tiger may seem like an uninspired choice but since we got the new lemur I feel justified in wanting the tiger I'm most familiar with.
If I'm understanding the new rule correctly, I can now include another five animals, since five of my earlier votes have made it in?

If so:
26. Helmeted guineafowl.
27. Caracal.
28. Diana monkey.
29. Raccoon dog/Tanuki.
30. Scimitar-horned oryx.

@random goat please let me know if I've misinterpreted the rule!
If this still applies, with the addition of the Amur leopard and the scimitar-horned oryx I have two new slots opening up. But what to choose?

Another monkey of course! And also...
31. Golden lion tamarin.
32. Bennett's wallaby.

I do wish I could change others now, but of course I understand the complexities of the rule and the work @random goat puts in. For example, I first picked the white-cheeked gibbon on my initial list, but even at the time I would have preferred the siamang (I just went with what I felt was more likely). So really, I'm happy with our siamang and no longer want the white-cheeked gibbon on my list. Similarly, the Iberian lynx is no longer important to me. Oh well!

Now that the new DLC has been announced, I feel like it's a good time for me to share my essential habitat wishlist species.

Hiya, would like to update my list!

So Capybara, Scimitar-Horned Oryx, Przewalski’s Wild Horse are gone (idk how the Leopard is being counted but for me the Amur subspecies personally fulfills my wishlist for the species?)

My new picks are:

1. Sulawesi Black Crested Macaque
2. Cape Porcupine
3. Black-Capped Capuchin (did somebody say anniversary gift?)
4. Red-Footed Tortoise (If I’m allowed to replace the leopard?)

I’m omitting aviary animals (as per the rules) but I’m also omitting purely aquarium animals (Whales, Fish, etc.) because I would almost fill my whole list up with them cause the picks are obvious there.

1. Musk Deer
2. Howler Monkey

Well, to be honest, the Californian sea lion satisfied my need for a sea lion, but I understand that it probably would be a bit difficult to keep track of every of these little changes. Anyway, I have 4 new votes.

So, I got two species with the Wetland Pack: Capybara and Red-crowned Crane, so that unlocks 2 more slots, which I shall give to:

1) a Giant Salamander Species (one of the Chinese sp. or Japanese)
2) Wild Yak

Just Leopard this time, so that gives me a +1, which I'll give to....
