Planet Zoo: Conservation Pack arriving 21 June 🌻

This is what I would enjoy as European forest cattle. One can dream about just recently extinct animals, okay? 😅

I get your point about "fringe" representation, but Moose, Arctic fox and Reindeer are very much european scandinvian animals, as @KönigDerKaffeebohnen could tell you. I agree we could use more southern european fauna, but it is a much less dire need than other far more underrepresented regions.

So if you we were to analyze;

Main European animals - 8: Moose, Arctic fox, Reindeer, Badger, Fallow deer, Ibex, Lynx, Grey seal

Animals on the fringes of europe - 2: Polar bear, flamingo

Animals which are iffy - 1: Timber wolf (which the game counts)

Practically identical substitutes - 2: HBB/European brown bear, American beaver/European beaver

Anyway you cut it, Europe is very well relresented compared to its biodiversity, and to other regions in the game.
Adding to this, from the animals left to be included theres a clear hierachy.

On the Top we got the wild boar and red fox, both near global (eventhough in parts for the wrong reasons) animals that are very distinct from their relatives in game and iconic on their own.
These are what i would argue to be the last truly missing species from europe.

Next on the list is a red deer, because there are simply two very different sides to the discussion.
Youve got the pro red deer arguments, mainly it being The deer species for atleast the european player base and a core animal for our smaller local zoos.
As weird as it may sound, they are the tiger of your standard european section so to speak, being one of the 3 general star animals with the brown bear and wolf.
The conside its a temperate european deer and we allready got ond with the fallow deer, which is a perfectly fine and reasonable opinion to have. Dlc slots are limited and i totally get prefering other animals over a second european "standard" deer.

Afterwards we get less needed and more just fun and nice to have additions like the common pheasent, a marten, more mustelids like the wolverine and polecat, the red squirrel, the alpine marmot, the chamois, a bunny or hare, the capercaillie, the mouflon, breeds of domestic species from europe and then we have "clones" with unique niches like the wisent, river otter, the iberian lynx and the harboue seal and lastly, the champion of our and especally @Aramar heart, the european brown bear.

So yeah, europes doing pretty good.
Honestly skandinavia just needs the wolverine to be perfect, for main land i would like the red fox, wild boar, red deer and honestly the european river otter, as its just so diverse in habitat and would be the only fresh water animal besides the beaver and moose for europe.
But yeah, just 4 animals and europe would be A-ok for me

To be fair, the wisent is also the topic of on-going reintroduction programmes and was saved from extinction by captive breeding. Nonetheless, I don’t have a problem with the oryx and think it’s a great addition to the game.
I know this totally. In my country they breed them to introduce them back to Poland.

But this species is in less critical situation than many species in Europe, and toooooo many species around the world.

I think the choice of animals of this pack is just the best for a 4 animals pack. All animals were requested by the community.
So we should cheer them.😁

Fun story about the aurochs is that two German brothers tried to breed it back by cross-breeding extant cattle breeds. Eventually this produced a cattle breed that's now known as the Heck cattle (after the brothers). Some of these are released in parts of Europe, including a man-made nature reserve in the Netherlands in what used to be the sea (we have weird definitions of nature). One time I went to a zoo in the south of the Netherlands where they were presented as aurochs xD

I just want to add 1 final thing, to leave things in a good way.

You know, @stonegarden, I understand why you'd want more Europe animals. I mean, I wish I could have a smorgasbord of NA animals. But, when the NAAP, was released, yeah, I would've chosen something different, but at the same time it satisfied my wants for more choices. When the Europe pack was released, a lot of our fellow European players cheered, and I cheered with them.
At this point, most of us are satisfied with somewhat representation in our countries, and anything else brought in is like a bonus. And I can guarantee that if a 2nd European pack, or even a Eurasian pack were to be released, it would be very well received.

But, as of right now, relatively speaking, Europe has far more than Australia and South America. South America is one of the most diverse continents, but we have, in my opinion a lackluster roster. We lack the rhea, we lack the maned wolf, not to mention the abundance of frogs and snakes. But that's another story.

So, long story short, just be satisfied with what we have. I've learned that I'm much happier when I'm satisfied with what I have than to expect more

🐾Planet Zoo Conservation Pack 🐾

Look at all this scenery I can't believe it's real it looks amazing
sighs

Now I have to redo all my gutter installations.

Jokes aside, this looks amazing! From their description on instagram:

"Clean energy is another way we can care for the planet, and one of the ways we can do this is with infrastructure! ⚡

Using eco-friendly guttering systems and ensuring they're clean can help regulate temperatures, therefore reducing the need for heating or air conditioning"

It looks like placing gutters even has an effect on the temperature of the buildings.

Also, what are these roofs? Is that supposed to be solar?

Wisent is in great danger of extinction because in Europe the great forests that were their natural habitat have disappeared. Even the largest population, living in the forests of Poland, fails to grow in sufficient numbers for the species to escape the danger of extinction. It is very difficult to sustain a population in reserves and this is the only way to protect it. As a comparison, the total number of Wisents represents less than 1% of the current total number of American bison, even if the American bison originates in the Eurasian bison.
That's how you can write about any species... I am from Poland and I have not heard that wisents are in danger of extinction. On the contrary, there are a lot of them, they don't live only in national parks. However, I know that scimitar oryxs, which are also in Poland (in Wroclaw), are included in a breeding program that restores the species to its natural environment. Also being European I don't scream that there are no wisents... I am glad that such an important, beautiful species which is extinct in the wild is in the game. The more you scream at the lack of wisents the more you discourage me from them.

Love all the new backstage scenery. More of that please! Especially indoor holding areas for animals :D

As for the maybe new facility building: I think the best guess, going by the whole "flora is important too" message going around here, is something like a gardener office.
