Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I had a pretty darn good day today, 3 ELW's in one session is a new record for me. I also came across a moon with 7 biological signals, found 5 and got all 3 samples from them in 30 minutes.

Here's some of the plants I came across, I'm sure many of you have seen all these before.

Hey, I'm willing to go with your theory. I don't know anything about crypto.
Basically, Bitcoin breaks down like this:

There are a limited number of Bitcoin. The way you "mine" a Bitcoin is by using a computer to solve a very large, very elaborate equation. In the beginning, people were using simple desktop computers to try to mine it with limited success.

The more Bitcoin were "mined", the harder and more elaborate they made the equations. So then people started building bigger and bigger rigs. One of the easiest ways to increase your computing power was installing multiple high-memory GPU's.

So then the Bitcoin miners started buying up every GPU they could that had 8 GB of RAM or more, and the more powerful the GPU, the better. They would buy up dozens of them at a time and build multiple rigs working in conjunction with each other to mine Bitcoin.

Over the last two years, it got completely out of hand to the point some companies were buying up HUNDREDS of GPU's at a time. All of a sudden, a RTX 3060 12GB card that had a MSRP of $325.00 was selling for over $600.00. What's more, people like you and me were told they were "out of stock" all the time because companies didn't want to sell you one card today and sell me one card next week.

They got greedy. They were holding all of the cards (pun intended) and selling mining companies 150 cards at a time. Screw you and me. We didn't matter.

Bitcoin hit it's height November 12th, 2021 at $64,400.00 per Bitcoin.

Presently it is worth $20,000.00 - a decrease of 69% in just the last 7 months.

So now all those companies that kept expanding their mining operations aren't making enough money to even run all the rigs they presently have, let alone build and expand to new ones.

And of course now that they're not buying anymore and many of them are going bankrupt having lost everything they had, INSTANTLY the video card companies are back begging us to buy their cards as if nothing ever happened.

That's why I'm waiting until my birthday (October) to buy a new GPU. I'll go ahead and bet I'll be able to pick up a RTX 3060 TI for around $325.00 by then.

Sounds like a plan, currently with that inflation and everything they're rising rates, so risky actives are under pressure, including those bitcoins. And nothing shows that it's going to change in the coming months, at least in the near future, if no more new factors are coming at least. One thing i'd bet against tho is 325 coins - companies aren't usually so inclined to really return this low-some-years-ago-price, even if not enough sells. So rather 400, but then anyway it's a good deal.

Railz are full of fun actually, its nothing more joyful than putting full volley of your railz onto small ships in the face.

In this case, the iCourier was too slow and got butt-kicked.

I'm testing 6 railz on my conda, at the 2 c2 and c1, 3c 4c hardpoints. They formed a " I " shaped kill zone, I like this layout, never a fan of it when I used gimballed gunz.

I love getting to a site to obtain something then finding the "cupboard was bare" and then I need to relog and then the place is swarming with scavs and I take them out then I find the crate I'm looking for and the item is still missing and I relog and the place is swarming with scavs and...

Well, that last one took five goes.

Ody missions sometimes still bug out sadly. I usually go away if the thing is obviously not there where it's supposed to be. Nice to know that relog can help in this case. Some missions that you take like on your way are ok to abandon, but the ones you're taking for the rewards that you need much... Guess worth relogging then.

I got a dilemma, I mapped a moon looking for geology sites (said there were 3) and found 3 distress beacons and 3 minor crash sites. I landed at a beacon site and found 6 occupied escape pods, I couldn't carry all of them if I wanted to, I don't know what I should do.

I think Codger said it was a bug in the game, I hope so, it would make it much easier to leave them behind. At this rate, I'll encounter hundreds of them before I get back to the bubble, this is insane.

What to do with occupied escape pods has always been a problem, even when they only showed up in the bubble.

I have found, and left behind, hundreds of them myself.

There's just nothing you can do with them that makes sense. They can be sold for a small amount to a Station, but that's all. Most exploration craft do not have much cargo space, anyway.

If you go used, you can do that now already. It’s amazing to see the prices of them just plummet the last six weeks. (And OH so gratifying!) Best Buy here in the US has the founder’s edition for $399.

Once the 40XX cards are released, they’ll come down even more.
