Unfair CG rewards

I'd have given them a trade-off. All sizes available, but each corrosion-resistant one would hold only half the tonnage of a regular one.
Alternatively an experimental mod on existing cargo racks.

I can't imagine who thought it would be a good idea to create such a tightly limited CG reward that would then serve as a massive buff to completing the next CG. Would have been far better to use this CG as the tech-broker unlock.

Same person who ran the Last CRCR CG that only got to tier 4 instead of the tier 8 level...
That also required MA collection... This CG is not a new Idea its a rerun... just with out final Tier level rewards
Players did not get the full rewards last time as final total was not reached...

I'm generally not one to poke too hard at the designers, but some of these decisions strike me as sophomoric. If Corrosion Resistant Cargo Racks are going to be a thing, they should be more generally available. As it is, if I participate in the next event, I'll end up using an Anaconda configured with 4E CRCR x 9 so 144 Tons of Corrosive Cargo vs. the 208 a top-tenner would reach.

I also made the top ten, but my motivation wasn't cargo containers or money. When this CG started, I read a bunch of posts here and elsewhere stating that there was no reason to participate because some people had a big head start by using existing stocks. Honestly, to me that sounded like a defeatist attitude and I wanted to prove them wrong. To the OP - if you believe that a goal is "totally unreachable" then you will certainly be right.

Yeah. Im not demanding my cargo rack or anything. People obviously were out there grinding the relogs and that’s fine.

I am going ro say the collector limpet thing seems like its an exploit too given the “hold just this way over just this settlement with just this gravity in just this ship” aspect i was reading. I have no idea why they make them like this which encourages exactly that kind of action but I’m definitely kicking myself for not staying out of a relog CG. Total waste of what i did collect.

Thing is that i actually enjoyed visiting the sites i had not seen before. Had I done what FDev wanted I’d been utterly sick of seeing them at all like I now am guardian sites harvesting for premium ammo. Its gone from “Wow what a cool experience” to “Crap, I have to make another 30 runs next week”. They have lost all interest and im bored as hell till the job is done. Its ashame its like this.

Possible CG location announced monday on galnet...
Combat bonds war is now active in location so CB could be collected Tuesday today if CZ are up...
This means those willing can "Gamble" that the CG will take place Thursday so they could get a head start and start today in CZ if active...
This is again paying attention to the game news and being rewarded for doing so if the CG is this week..
Edit 19/5/22 CG location was correct stacked bonds will count for a single side only...

Just a little repost of some useful stuff.
This is concerning the "Collect Meta-Alloys for Professor Palin" CG but could be applied on any CG event, if set correctly.
I've added a T6 to still reward the best CMDRs with cash and/or special reward as for naming station awarded for the best CMDRs for Colonia bridge.

How about FDevs Stop doing nonsense with % they cannot bother to manage and just do a deliver limit to get CG stuff rewards?

Like for this event (that was finished in its initial release in a few hours) it could be as follows :
Reward Level
Reward
Threshold
Tier 6, Top 10 CMDRs
Massive cash reward & bonus (naming/tag/skin etc...)10 best CMDRs
Top 10 CMDRs Tier 5
6A Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack (capacity 64)700
Top 10% Tier 4
5A Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack (capacity 32)300
Top 25% Tier 3
6A Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack (capacity 64)150
Top 50% Tier 2
5A Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack (capacity 32)100
Top 75% Tier 1
4A Corrosion Resistant Cargo Rack (capacity 16)20
Top 100% Base Reward
Nothing (Could be a 2A or 3A as well?)1

Reward being as usual cumulative, with 700 units delivered you'd get multiple racks of 32 & 64.

Just remove this % nonsense that just make most of the community not even bothering participate as this will be just dumb relog "official" mechanics ...

Concerning the last CG "Supply Rare Goods for Rackham Celebration (Rares)"
Leaving the % for tier reward may keep sense as it's only for cash and being the best and get rewards makes sense, the tier 1 to 6 I'm suggesting is only valid for unique reward such as those CRCR or over-engineered modules (FSD with IR & FBS from Colonia bridge, Guardian Plasma with Foc & OC from "Thargoid Fleets Invade Nebula Systems", etc...)

That introduces a big problem, though: setting the thresholds.

FDev does their best, but players consistently surprise them. Also, mistakes happen.

You have the benefit of hindsight, but it's not so easy to set tiers beforehand. What happens if they get it wrong? Either they've given the modules to everyone (is that a good thing) or people have again concluded that a tier is out of reach and given up. Then they might want to change the tiers which always brings (valid) complainers out of the woodwork.

The problem isn't thresholds: it is The Knowledge Problem. Brimston's suggestion would avoid the problem entirely.
Fdev should stop trying to decide what percentage of their player base they want to reward and instead decide (roughly) how much time they want people to spend pursuing those rewards. The threshold follows naturally from that expected time commitment.

Galnet leaks early info show those reading the galnet news feeds what items are needed for possible CG..
FC will have a choice empty their fuel storage to get a higher placing in the CG...
but they will have to unload by them selves a Cutter/ T9 (one load) at a time to do so..

I'lll be offloading a few thousand tons from a couple of mine. 400K+ profit is tempting - even if I end up with a hold full of Tritium I bought to replace it!

No big spoilers via galnet, but 2 CGs were announced by past events which still have not yet happened...
So these CGs are KEY CGs that are still to happen.
So items can still be stacked beforehand, this is people who read galnet and stacked the items...

People were prepaired before the CG went live and had stacked items over the weeks before the CG went live...
But not as many people who "could" have stacked these items seam to have actualy bothered..
The gifts/prizes were not as "Good" as they talked about on live stream...
So FC owner may not have cared so may not even have rushed to dump every thing yet to station..
But these people did know to do this as galnet announce the CG weeks earlier...

The prize description has left its worth in Question as it did not state that they are not double engineered so the prizes might be double engineered or it may not be... Flossy is on the case...

This weeks CG does look to be spolier free this week as galnet is just doing repeat news and catch up stories...
Players have found Activity that points to a system but its not insured to be this weeks CG system...
This could allow Thargoid items and thargoid kill bounties to be collected before hand but theres no direct posting that it will be thargoid gear...
Those collecting will again gamble on it...

As an example of when leaks are wrong..
People guessed the correct location...
The early leak of the CG a few hours before the CG got a few people burned today...
The location was correct the Delivery items were wrong 5 were listed in the leaked CG but only 3 were actualy supported in the CG...

Getting a heads up to stack items is not insured to be always correct its a gamble...

Didn't even realize I was rolling the dice on this, people going for the 2 highest profit items in the leak would be burned.

I ended up lucking out because I knew battle weapons/combat stabilizers were illegal in some systems and would thus have lower supplies.
