Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Oh come on, be fair... It sure is kind of a leap if you make 2 steps in one day when you barely made a dozen in 10 years. Though that is if you forget you challenged yourself to run a marathon and a triathlon, simultaneously, running backwards, on stilts.
Meh, CIG gonna do it on their hands. While they're tied behind their back, that's never done before.

Meanwhile in cultist land...

As for the "dynamic" event indeed they are completey fixed and the opposite of dynamic (happen at fixed intervals, with the exact same ships spawned at the exact same locations etc.)

If the guy is having a go at new people not having the right expectations, maybe he should be having a go at CIG instead for setting those expectations.

Also, that 4 million people have joined the universe is 100% false advertising as it includes free fly accounts.

It will be interesting to see when the law of diminishing returns kicks in with ninetails - at the moment people seem happy that anything is happening, but if it's anything like other games that will soon turn into more of a 'ninetails again' posts. Difficult to keep to the 'never been done before' line when you get to the 18th 'ninetails is live!' post :sneaky:

Hmm, I could steal some ideas from CR. Boots of Clipping (walk through walls) . Sword of Jankiness (bypass armor). Cursed item - Bomb of Returning (just can't get rid of it when you throw it).
New boss - The Elevator of Doom.

It is simple, there will be a new event - tentails.

Those complaints already happen in the more active SC discords

Ant asks ...

(yes, appears to be his answer)

Ant makes the comparison that many others will make come next year with the release of Bethesda's Starfield...if they can do it, why haven't Ci¬G and their multi million dollar funding been able to thus far?

As much as I dislike apples and oranges comparisons, if Starfield is even half of what it's been hyped up to be...that's not even counting the 100 star systems at launch... Star Citizen and Ci¬G are going to be in a world of hurt despite what a good many of the faithful are spouting on reddit and spectrum. In a niche genre like space games, a decent release for Starfield could well be the Star Citizen killer that both Ci¬G and the faithful are all denying it will be.

Unless the most ardent citizens completely change their focus in SC to other similar game I don't see those diminishing returns happening.
Only then should CIG be worried as that's the sign of a dying game.

Considering the continuous increase of refugees player and the funding reports I'd say they are doing alright.

Not a SC killer, but it could make SQ42 still born.
