Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Got them all discovered. Should I map them all? Do I have to sell the plans before they're marked as my discovery?
Yes, at least 20Ly from where you made the discovery. Mapping is discretionary and up to you, I only map moons with geology (if I want to land), Ammonia worlds, Earth Like Worlds and moons/planets with biology (I don't do Water Worlds).

Use this as a guide regarding what to map...

When I was doing explo, I mapped anything that would net me more than 100,000 CR. Your tolerance maybe lower than mine (IE: Higher Prices)

Yeah, unfortunately not my first rodeo. The real issue is letting my right arm rest for several weeks before I try to do anything with it, including holding a joystick or using a mouse...
I have been there to the point I learned to use a mouse left handed as it became physically impossible to use my right due to RSI in the shoulder and forearm. It can take a long time to be 99% recovered, although a small number of weeks can bring the arm back into use. Ibuprofen I found pointless except maybe a bit of relief in the early days. A program of intense sports injury massage including some ultrasound treatment was by far the most effective treatment. This was some years ago. To this day, I have to be "kind" to my right arm as it can easily start to flare again - hence why I say 99% recovered.
My downfall was Company of Heroes - such a lot of mouse work in intense gameplay situations.

I use a right handed joystick. That way I can mouse and joy at the same time.

I'm actually ambidextrous. One of my neatest tricks is to write with both hands at the same time.
In ED, simultaneously? I use my left hand for throttle (keyboard WASD) for both flight and on foot.

I learned to mouse left handed about 10 years ago due to various wrist/elbow injuries. I've now had issues with my left wrist as well.

I'm set up for a true left hander. Mouse on left side of keyboard, true left handed mouse (right click is left and left is right). I can't use wasd. I remap everything to the opposite side of the keyboard for my right hand. The arrow keys are wasd, F12 is F1, etc.

Literally everything is reversed. That's why it takes me forever to set up a game. ALL of the key bindings are on the wrong side of the keyboard.

Whenever I mouse left handed I always change the mouse button mapping so I still use my index finger to click and middle finger to get context menus. I also always buy ambidextrous mice.

I just wish Windows 10 would save the mouse button mapping so I don't have to change it every time I turn on my PC.

Well, the system doesn't exist on EDDB or Inara, so...good luck finding it.

But I will remember that in the future.
The system name was in one of your earlier screenshots, so anyone who has seen it could plot a course there. The odds of something stealing your thunder like that are miniscule, and you will be first discover for many more systems if you keep exploring anyway. I wouldn't rush to anywhere to sell the data and interrupt your expedition that way.

Just made it to the next system that was discovered. The nearest base is 1,290 LY away.
Just keep going, use max jump range until you're out where no one has been then switch to most eco jump range, plot a 1000Ly course and hit every system, don't filter out anything. I guarantee you'll find at least one Earth Like World if not more. I truly believe this game rewards the grind.

That's what stinks. This system isn't in the EDDB database so I have no idea where the nearest base is to sell it.
Of course not (well, more or less - the two databases in ED and EDDB/EDSM are independent, I think EDDB and EDSM are using the same DB nowadays). Since you were the first to discover this system, who should have uploaded it to EDDB? If you want to fix that (for the future) and you're playing on PC (again, I think there are ways for XBox/PS CMDRs to contribute, I just never looked into them), run one of the helper apps (like EDMC or EDDiscovery) that will automatically upload any data on newly discovered systems into EDDB/EDSM. On the downside, that data is then also immediately available to any other CMDRs, who then (in theory) would be able to snipe that "first discovery" bonus from you.

Otherwise, that system will stay unknown to EDDB unless some other CMDR goes there, scans it and uploads the system data.
