Class 8 Thrusters for Type 10?

The Type 10 is basically so slow it makes it not viable for most uses, and what is the point of a top notch ship which is unusable? With those Cutter thrusters it is gonna be atleast useful, and it will explain the speed diffrence between Type 10 and Type 9, because why is the Type 9 slower with the same thrusters and while being LIGHTER than Type 10?
 
Agreed. The t10 sacrifices cargo space for hardpoints, armour and speed. But in reality it's armour isn't much more than the t9 and its speed is negligible. Graphically it has many more thrusters so it really should go much quicker. Graphically it has those class 8 thrusters. Give it class 8s!
 
The Cutter can't stop with those thrusters unless you put an asteroid in its way. Don't make the same mistake with the T10. It's the best ship in the game (personal opinion) and doesn't need ruining! And the Armour is much better than the T9 once upgraded and engineered, the T9 can't touch it for spit.

Anyway, Type-10 only needs one extra size 7 internal.
Else it's fine for what it is
 
I have 2 T10s on my only account and they get used all the time. One is invincible and the other is a credible all-purpose miner. It's a brilliant ship as it is. You just have to learn how to fly it right, like any other ship in the game.
 
Armour is much better than the T9
The comparison is actually really interesting

Unengineered 1680 vs 2030
Engineered 2390 vs 2894

However to close that gap you need only add one fully engineered class 3 hull reinforcement pushing the t9 up to 2887 armour.

Ah! But then you point out that the t10 has two class 5 restricted slots! True. Fill them with engineered armour and you get 4303. Very nice. But then we do the same with the t9 and I have to fill a class 5, 3 and 1 for the equivalent (4325). If you fill the rest with cargo that gives a 200 tonne advantage to the t9 which is explained by the 4 extra large hardpoints, 4 utilities and larger power plant, FSD and distributor of the t10 (this does work out to about 200t)


The numbers are also similar for unengineered armour
With a similar 200 tonne gap.

So no real advantage to armour or thrusters. Only guns and shields.

Engineer those thrusters and its pretty nippy.

In fact its the best multi role Mining ship in the game
Loads of hard points to pack every mining module available, huge power distributor, 256 cargo rack in one slot and the view!!

Well, it does make a nice combat ship when you deliberately accidentally run into them.

Personally, I'd rather we accentuate it s strengths, rather than trying to mitigate its weaknesses.

Increase the armor hardness by 10, and give it another class 7 optional slot.
Some people here write about warehouses, yes I have a couple of them for storage, but they have too little space for modules :(

But a lot of space for weapons, which at its class distributor to shoot impossible. (If it is not machine guns)
 
Ok, so to recap, we love the t10 but it needs better thrusters, armour and distributor.

It might even be a viable AX machine after all that... although the convergence could do with some work....
 
the T10 needs something, bit of speed... and allow it to have 6 experimental weapons. give it an extra something after all it was designed as a thargoid combat ship.

i have tried it, it just a missile sponge, it cannot get away from anything
