However to close that gap you need only add one fully engineered class 3 hull reinforcement pushing the t9 up to 2887 armour.
Ah! But then you point out that the t10 has two class 5 restricted slots! True. Fill them with engineered armour and you get 4303. Very nice. But then we do the same with the t9 and I have to fill a class 5, 3 and 1 for the equivalent (4325). If you fill the rest with cargo that gives a 200 tonne advantage to the t9 which is explained by the 4 extra large hardpoints, 4 utilities and larger power plant, FSD and distributor of the t10 (this does work out to about 200t)
