no, i'm sayingthat CapShip CZ are not good for learning the ropes as was implied by the previous poster
They are however insanely fun as they are.
I'm currently sitting at 1,235,430,000 of bonds turned in for this most recent CG. That number excludes one Medusa and two Basilisks whose Bonds were poached by INV Audacious Dream. This is my
AX Cutter, there are many like it...
Caveats for anecdotes.
Its pretty common for the interceptors to spread out and NOT directly engage the capital ship. Roughly half my engagements end up at greater than 8km from the CapShip. Basilisks and Medusa are over-represented at the greater than 8km range. Cyclopes don't generally last long enough to spread out.
I don't bother with Hydras. They pretty much require ammo synth, and I'm fairly militantly against ammo synth.
From a learning-the-ropes perspective, these (and the regular AX) CZ give a dramatically simplified fight. No active Thargons or distracted Thargons and the ability to manage agro on the Interceptor gives a new AX pilot the most valuable of commodities in a fight: time. If you're new to AX combat I'd highly recommend you try these CZ out.
Because of the breathing room the NPC combatants give, AX CZs are more forgiving on all most all aspects of the fight, the exceptions being the lack of Thargon swarms (so no opportunity to practice), and the killing blow issue.
Occasionally the instance will bug and no new ships will spawn to allow you to "finish" the instance. Not sure why this happens, Best guess is sometimes the game loses track of a kill and so doesn't think its time to spawn a new hostile (kind of like the old invincible heart bug).
Earning rates are very dependent on what interceptors spawn. A completed instance usually takes me between 20-30 minutes with payouts running from 50-100 million. From an earnings perspective Basilisks are the ideal, Cyclops hold me back, and Medusa don't really pay enough for the extra time they take to burn down. (going all guass would speed kill time on the Medusa, but it would slow kill time on the Basilisk and Cyclopes. And I like Plasma Chargers...).
