Prediction of Azimuth saga conclusion

One of my team noted the message yesterday said something about remote access or something, so I doubt Salvation will die.

Still I expect something to go wrong and we're basically about to poke the hornet's nest with a big stick. Maybe something will happen with the Guardian's AI, dunno about that one. But apparently this will 'change the face of the galaxy forever' so... I definitely don't think it's gonna work as described. I don't think anyone expects that.

I think we'll have a new wave of burning stations to repair and hopefully some new combat content. I'm a fan of Fred Saberhagen's Berserker series so I'm hoping for some Guardian automated killer ships but on foot Thargoid content does seem more likely.

Whatever it is there will be people who will be disappointed & others who will be happy no matter what, but fingers crossed this event becomes a success & helps to bring in more players.

I've gone back and forth on whether it'll work or not a few times ... and I think there's more scope for a story if it does appear to work as advertised in the short-term ... and then in a few weeks or months time it becomes obvious exactly why we shouldn't have done that, after Salvation and his superpower backers have had time to look smug ... whereas if it just doesn't work, or the Thargoids break through enough to stop it being fired, people like Hudson and Mahon can still claim it was worth trying.

That doesn't mean that there'll be much in the way of working human infrastructure left in the system though - the Musashi is obviously deliberately positioned outside the system it's coordinating defence for, allowing for both "doesn't work, everyone in the system overwhelmed by Thargoids before it can fire" and "does work but almost everyone in the system overwhelmed by Thargoids before it can fire".

Musashi is outside the system for...

One expects Salvation to look out for their own skin first...and foremost

I think something quite spectacular will happen, and given the hype dished from Frontier. They must be pretty certain when they say:

"...if you're in the area, you should definitely make your way to HIP 22460 as this is a moment that will go down in the history of Elite Dangerous, and wouldn't it be great to say you were there?"

I'm parked at 10B! (y)

Overhyping would be rather the opposite of clever after the Odyssey launch, so hopefully this will be a blast.

Something like the black hole in Fortnite, and then a complete reshuffled reset of everything would be interesting, and even though I wouldn't freely delete my several thousand hours of gatherings, I kind of like the idea of everyone starting over, especially if new content is a part of it.

I also think I'm completely wrong, and I don't think any of us knows what will happen. It's like the day before Christmas. Trying to keep your expectations calm, while hoping for the best thing ever. Elite Dangerous is by several lengths the best game I ever played, because space and VR, so bring it on :alien:

If Thargoids on foot is part of the future, could you pretty please remove that letterbox, or make it optional. We all seem to have good enough performance to handle vanity cam on foot these days, and many of us don't get more dizzy than we can handle.

Another thing that could happen, was that next time you log in after installing U13, you will be a Thargoid among Thargoids, being loaded into a flimsy Scout and then sent to the front to defend yourselves against the blood thirsty human savages 🔫:alien:

That would be cool :)

Whatever it is, after the reveal I'm sure someone will say it was obvious what was going to happen, and with hindsight, no doubt is will be ;)

I believe at the very moment the super weapon is fired, Frontier shuts down the servers and replaces the launcher with a black screen with the simple letters "LOL" in large font across the screen. When you hit the launch game button you are re-directed to Star Citizen's website and Frontier never says another word about it.
Game is finally dead, there you go.

I think this tells us something about tomorrow ...

Essentially ..
Will console players be able to see the conclusion of the Azimuth saga.
Frontier: yes

So, unless that "yes" is playing fast and loose with the truth then whatever there is to "see" tomorrow has to be something that Frontier can and will patch into the console client (and also presumably the PC 3.8 Horizons client). When considering my expectations for what we'll see tomorrow I find taking that statement into account definitely helps moderate my expectations.

Well, basically because of that I think too that the new way the narrative is presented to us wil not be included in the grand finale.
But on the other hand, Horizon users may just whitness it via usual methods (text messages, voice accompaniation), while Odyssey users may see some additional stuff (videos, in-game animations, etc.)

Well, that's what I meant by "fast and loose" and I guarantee poop will hit the fan if that's what they meant by "yes" (and I don't mean proteus wave poop).
Can't really say I disagree with that, but is it supposed to be better if everyone would get the simplified text version instead of something better just in order not to upset console users?
