Do you use supersampling a lot? Your setup is more or less like mine (CV1, 1080, fairly recent Ryzen 7 CPU here), and I feel Horizons does run quite good on that setup, but not exceptional (I get noticeable drops now and then, especially in and around stations.) I do use a bit of supersampling though, to easily read HUD text. The game actually has VR support. I want the doomed pancake go away for sure too, being a 100% VR player, but in its recent iterations, Odyssey definitely is king and Horizons feels like a downgrade now. I can even use my old hardware (GTX1070, Rift CV1). Runs buttersmooth, but with better graphics

I'm still holding off buying Odyssey, not for the lack of on-foot VR (I expect to play on foot only occasionally), but I'm afraid the framerate will drop beyond playable. Just can't decide if trading performance for the graphical upgrade is worth it ><.
